Method of Application
Avinashlingam University (AVINUTY) provides a full time, one-year degree program in Master of Philosophy and a part-time M.Phil. Sequential program. The Degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) is conferred upon an aspirant who succeeds in submitting a thesis on the basis of original and independent research in any particular branch that makes a contribution to the advancement of knowledge. The field of research provideed in M.Phil Program includes five faculties namely, Home Science, Science, Humanities, Education, and Business Administration.
Aspirants want admission should submit their applications on or before 10th of July. Admission to M.Phil Program is organized in the month of July every year by Avinashlingam University.

M.Phil. Program (Regular)
M.Phil. Sequential Program:
Aspirants should submit their applications on or before 10th of July. Admission to M.Phil Program shall be finished in the month of July every year.
The application form, complete in all respects, should be submitted to the Registrar, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore – 641043, on or before the last date of submission.
Documents to be submitted
The application should be submitted along with the attested Xerox copies of the following certificates:
An entrance and oral examination are organized for all the participants and the performance in these will be taken into account along with the marks scored in the Post Graduate program. The written test will include objective questions for 75 marks and oral test will be for 25 marks. The marks secured in written test and oral examination are added to the marks obtained in the Post Graduate degree examinations and the rank list is prepared accordingly.
Note: Aspirants who possess UGC/ CSIR/ JRF will be given priority.
The course shall cover two consecutive summers starting from April of every academic year to June of the next academic year.
Attendance is compulsory for 45 days during the 1st summer (April-June) and further 15 days between July to December of the same year.
Part I Examinations will be held during the following January. An extension of time for submission of the dissertation will be granted for a duration of 12 months on payment of a penalty of Rs. 450/- per month for the first six months and Rs. 750/- per month for the next six months. Part II Dissertation shall be submitted by the end of next July.
The regulations governing the full-time M.Phil. Course regarding the courses of study, passing minimum, and qualifications of the guide, organizing the M.Phil Course shall apply also to the part-time course.
