Anna University is a  UGC recognised technical university in the state of Tamil Nadu.   It provides 31 undergraduate courses, 64 post-graduate courses and 3 research courses. The University invites application for admission to M.Sc and M.Phil Programs provideed in the University Departments of College of Engineering Guindy and Madras Institute of Technology Campuses, Anna University, Chennai-600025.

One must be a graduate in order to apply for M.Sc Program while for M.Phil. program admissions, postgraduates in the concerned field of interest may apply. You may refer to the complete eligibility criteria for more.

The application form can be filled online and the printout of the finished application can be submitted either in person or via post. The application form is common for both the programs. Application Procedure of AU (Anna University) M.Sc. and M.Phil. Admissions 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts, M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Engineering

The aspirants must fill up the application form cautiously. (Aspirants appearing for final semester/year exam of the Qualifying Degree in April /May 2017 have to enclose a bonafide certificate from the Head of the Institution where the aspirant is pursuing) or self-attested photocopy of the April/May 2017

  • University Examination Admit Card
  • Copy of Permanent Community Certificate alloted by the competent authority for BC / BCM / MBC / SC / SCA / ST aspirants
  • Medical Certificate alloted by the District Medical Board for Differently abled person (if eligible)
  • Nativity Certificate (if eligible)
  • Self-addressed envelope ` 20/- within Chennai city and ` 40/- for other cities for
  • Sending Counseling Call Letter by Speed Post
  • The application form is common for admission to all M.Sc. and M. Degree Programmes Phil.

    The aspirants can register via the internet by logging on to University’s website.

    The process for registration is available on Anna University’s website; the aspirants should fill in all the need details while filling up the online application form

    Then print the filled-in application and submit it to “The Director, Centre for Admissions, Anna University, Chennai-600025” with need enclosures and a Demand Draft of Rs. 700/- for the general category and Rs. 350/- for SC/SCA/ST person belonging to Tamil Nadu in person or by post.

    The University shall not be responsible for any postal delays

    Applications received after the last date will be rejected; the amount paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

    Selection Procedure of AU (Anna University) M.Sc. and M.Phil. Admissions 2018

    M.Sc , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

    Aspirants will be required to appear for an entrance examination organizeed by Anna University for both the program. On the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, they will be called for a counseling session.

    The Counseling will be organizeed at Anna University, Chennai - 600 025. Aspirants should attend counseling at their own cost with all their original certificates with an initial deposit of Rs. 5000/- in the form of a Demand Draft.


    Important Notes for AU (Anna University) M.Sc. and M.Phil. Admissions 2018

    All the applicable aspirants who have registered should download the admit card from Anna University website. programme. Phil. Aspirant, if applicable after verification, will be alloted an, Admit Card If any aspirant could not download the Admit Card by May 5, 2018 (tentative), he/she should report to the enquiry office at the Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University, Chennai – 25, with a self-attested copy of their passport size photograph and evidence for having applied for M. Sc. /M.
