Established in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities situated in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to provide courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also offers more than 500 courses via distance learning mode.

The university provides two Post Graduate courses in the field of agriculture (M.Sc. & M.B.A.) that can be pursued on Full time as well as a Part-time basis. Admissions to these programmes is based on the performance of the aspirant in the qualifying examination and mark scored in the entrance test and the interview to be organized by the university.

Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves by filling-in the related application form available at the university website. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/SCA aspirants).

Note: 

  • Aspirants under 4 point grade systems should possess a minimum OGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 and 2.75 out of 4.00 in the related subject.
  • For those less than 10 point grade system, a minimum OGPA of 6.00 out of 10.00 and 6.50 out of 10.00 in the related subject is required. However, for SC/SCA/ST aspirants, a pass in the degree concerned is sufficient.
  • For M.B.A (Agri. Business) the minimum OGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 is sufficient

For Part-Time programmes:

The Part-time M.Sc. (Ag./Hort.) / M.B.A (Agri. Business) programme will be offered to the in-service Students of Annamalai University with at least two years of service. Students should possess a pass in B.Sc.(Ag.)/ B.Sc.(Hort.) in order to apply for the programme.

Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses via the online application procedure.

  • An aspirant should log on to the official university website and fill the related application form to register for the M.Sc/ MBA in Agriculture programmes.
  • Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence.
  • The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST Aspirants) via demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai

Annamalai University M.Sc & MBA in Agriculture Admissions Procedure 2018

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Agriculture), Master of Science [M.Sc] (Horticulture) & Master of Business Administration [MBA] (Agriculture)

Entrance test will be organized for M.Sc. Agriculture/Horticulture and MBA in Agriculture programme. Based on the result of entrance test and interview, aspirants will be called for counseling session where they will be allotted the subject according to availability and number of seats

Note: A aspirant can apply to a maximum of three courses

Reservation Criteria

  • 3% seats have been comprised for differently abled persons as per norms laid down by the Government of Tamil Nadu
  • Seats will be reserved for aspirants belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
