Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities situated in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to provide courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also offers more than 500 courses via distance learning mode.
The university provides the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes in the following branches:

Aspirants who have secured their Master’s Degree can apply for M.Phil./Ph.D. programme via online/offline registration procedure. Those who seek admission can download the application form available at the university website or obtain it in person / via post from the university office.
Finished applications, along with the processing fee, should access the university office on or before the last date. Final selection of the aspirant will be done on the basis of their performance in entrance and interview, to be organizeed by the university.
