is one of the Annamalai University largest public residential universities founded in 1929 which is authorized with ‘ A’ grade by NAAC in 2014 having 10 faculties and 49 departments of studies. 19 departments of the university are supported by UGC- SAP, 16 by DST- FIST and 2 have acquired the status of Centre of Advanced Study.

Admission of aspirants to the BDS/MBBS programmes is based on their performance in the qualifying examination.
Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility criteria can register themselves by downloading the related application form available at the university website. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 800/- and Rs.400/- to complete the registration procedure.

Eligibility of the aspirants belonging to Tamil Nadu Sons and Daughters of all India service Tamil Nadu Cadre are also qualified to apply. Aspirants who are from Tamil Nadu but have passed VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII from schools located outside Tamil Nadu are also qualified to apply with the native certificate. Children of Central Government Employees are also qualified to apply. Children of an employee in public or government sector for the past 5 years are also qualified to apply with evidence like income tax return and PF Slip. Aspirants who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII in Tamil Nadu are also qualified to apply without requiring of the native certificate. Aspirants who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII from another state of Tamil Nadu are also qualified to apply without requiring of the native certificate.
Age limit eligibility Aspirants must have finished 17 years of age or before December 31, 2016.
Educational qualification eligibility
Aspirants who have passed all subjects examination of the higher secondary by Tamil Nadu state board in the single sitting with qualified minimum marks in the following subjects:
The aspirant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology with any other subjects. (OR) Aspirants must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
Minimum eligibility marks in BDS/MBBS: For OC/BC/BCM/MBC and DNC aspirants: Students must pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics with not less than 50% aggregate marks. For SC/SCA/ST aspirants: 40% marks in the above-prescribed subjects
Minimum eligibility marks for aspirants belonging to Orthopaedically Physically Disabled Category – (Locomotory disability of Lower Limbs alone) is as follows: For SC/SCA/ST aspirants: 40% marks in the above prescribed subjects. Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses via the online application procedure.
The aspirant should log on to the official university website and fill the related application form to register for the MBBS/ BDS programmes. Finished applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address: The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 800/- via demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai. Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence.

Selection of the aspirants to MBBS/BDS programme will be done based on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the science subjects in the qualifying examination.
Seats will be reserved for aspirants belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu
