Established in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities situated in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to provide courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also offers more than 500 courses via distance learning mode.

The university provides the following programmes via the Faculty of Marine Sciences:

  • Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.)
  • Masters of Science (M.Sc.) (6 branches)

Admission of aspirants to the B.F.Sc programme will be done on the basis of their performance in the qualifying examination. Aspirants will be shortlisted for M.Sc in marine science programmes based on their performance in entrance examination and interview, organized by the university.

Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility criteria can register themselves by downloading the related application form available at the university website. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 800/- and Rs.400/- for B.F.Sc. and M.Sc. courses in marine sciences respectively, to complete the registration procedure.

Annamalai University M.Sc Admission 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc]

Aspirants should have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto under the following conditions:

  • Aspirants who belong to OC, BC/BCM category must possess 60% marks in Physics and Chemistry taken together. MBC/DNC category aspirants should have scored at least 55% aggregate. For SC/ST aspirants, the minimum pass is sufficient
  • Aspirants who belong to OC, BC/BCM category must possess 60% marks in Biology/Zoology and Botany. MBC/DNC category aspirants should have scored at least 55% aggregate in these subjects and for SC/ST aspirants, the minimum pass is sufficient

For aspirants from Vocational Stream:

  • Students who belong to OC, BC/BCM category must possess 60% marks in Vocational subjects (Only the subject of Fisheries). MBC/DNC category aspirants should have scored at least 55% aggregate and for SC/ST aspirants, the minimum pass is sufficient 
    • Students who belong to OC, BC/BCM category must possess 60% marks in Biology. MBC/DNC category aspirants should have scored at least 55% aggregate and for SC/ST aspirants, the minimum pass is sufficient.

    Annamalai University M.Sc Admission 2019 How to Apply?

    Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc], Master of Science [M.Sc] (Marine Biology/ Aquatic Biology and Fisheries) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Marine Biotechnology)

    Aspirants can register themselves for the B.F.Sc /M.Sc in Marine Science courses via the online application procedure.

    • The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 800/- (For B.F.Sc. programme) and Rs. 400/- (For M.Sc. courses) via demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai. For SC/ST aspirants, the registration fee is Rs. 400/- and Rs. 200/- for B.F.sc. and M.Sc. programmes respectively  
    • Finished applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address:

    • Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence.
