Annamalai University is one of Asia’s top public residential universities providing over 500 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes via its 10 faculties such as science, commerce, arts, management etc. and 49 departments of study.

The Faculty of Engineering & Technology provides the following programmes to its students every year:

  • Bachelor of Engg. (Full-Time / Part-time)
  • B. Voc.
  • B.E (Lateral entry)

Admissions to these programmes are based on the performance of the aspirant in the qualifying examination.

Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves by filling-in the related application form available at the university website. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/SCA aspirants).

Eligibility Criteria for B.Voc. & BE Admission

BE/B.Tech & Bachelors in Vocational Courses

Eligibility for B.E., B.E. (Lateral Entry), B.Voc.

  • Aspirants who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII in Tamil Nadu are qualified to apply without the native certificate. Those who have finished their schooling from outside Tamil Nadu are also qualified to apply with the native certificate.
  • Children of the employee in public or government sector for the past 5 years are qualified to apply with evidence like income tax return and PF Slip.
  • Children of Central Government Employees are qualified to apply. Sons and Daughters of all India service Tamil Nadu Cadre can also apply

The aspirant should have passed in HSC (Vocational subject) with any of the concerned subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and chemistry with minimum average percentage as given below:

Civil & Structural Engineering

Eligibility: Aspirant must have passed in diploma of civil and structural engineering organized by the state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility: Aspirant must have passed in diploma of Mechanical engineering organized by the state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Eligibility: Aspirant must have passed in diploma of Electrical and Electronics engineering organized by the state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

Eligibility: Aspirant must have passed in Electrical and Electronics / Electronics and Instrumentation / Electronics and Communication / Computer Science & Engineering / Instrumentation and Control / Electronics Engg./ Information Technology organized by the state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization

Chemical Engineering

Eligibility: Aspirant must pass diploma in Chemical Engineering organized by the state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

For B.E. (Lateral entry)

  • The aspirant must have passed with minimum eligibility marks in one of the diploma in the discipline of engineering of the state board of technical education and training.
  • The aspirant must have to possess the following minimum eligibility marks to lateral entry programme as follows:

The aspirant must have passed in HSC or equivalent with minimum need percentage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as given below:

B.Voc. & BE Admission 2019 How to Apply?

BE/B.Tech & Bachelors in Vocational Courses

Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses via the online application procedure.

  • The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST Aspirants) via demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai. For B.E. (Part-time) & B.Voc programme, registration fee is Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST aspirants)
  • Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence.
  • The aspirant should log on to the official university website and fill the related application form to register for the B.E. (Regular/L.E.) and B.Voc programmes.
  • Finished applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address:

B.Voc. & BE Admission Procedure 2019

BE/B.Tech & Bachelors in Vocational Courses

For B.E. (Full-Time):

Selection of the aspirant will be based on marks obtained in the subjects (mathematics- 100, physics & chemistry- 100) for general category aspirants.

In case of equal marks, aspirant shall be selected on the basis of percentage in mathematics, physics and fourth optional subject taken together in 10+2.

For B.E. Lateral Entry:

Selection of the aspirant will be based on the marks obtained in the final year examination of the qualifying degree

For B.Voc.:

Selection of aspirant will be based on the overall marks secured in the qualifying examination

For B.E (Part-Time):

Selection of the aspirants will be based on their score in the Entrance Examination and Interview

Reservation Criteria of B.Voc. & BE Admission

Seats will be reserved for aspirants belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu
