Established in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities situated in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to provide courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also offers more than 500 courses via distance learning mode.

The university provides the following programmes via their respective faculties:

  • B.P.T. – 30 seats
  • B.Sc. Nursing – 100 seats
  • B. Pharm. – 60 seats
  • B.O.T. – 20 seats
  • M.Pharm. in 3 branches

Admission of aspirants to UG programmes is based on their performance in the qualifying examination. Aspirants will be shortlisted for M.Pharm. based on their performance in entrance examination and interview.

Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility criteria can register themselves by downloading the related application form available at the university website. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 800/- to complete the registration procedure.

Annamalai University B.Pharm & M.Pharm Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

B.Pharm

The university provides the following Under Graduate programmes via its respective faculties:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) - 4 ½ years including internship
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) - 4 years
  • Bachelor of Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) - 4 years
  • Bachelor of Occupational therapy (B.O.T.) - 4 ½ years including internship

Common eligibility criteria for the aspirants belonging to Tamil Nadu 

  • Aspirants who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII in Tamil Nadu are qualified to apply without the native certificate. Those who have finished their schooling from outside Tamil Nadu are also qualified to apply with a native certificate.
  • Children of Central Government Employees are qualified to apply.
  • Children of all India service Tamil Nadu Cadre can also apply.
  • Children of the employee in public or government sector for the past 5 years are qualified to apply with evidence like income tax return and PF Slip

Educational qualification eligibility

Aspirants must have passed the Higher secondary examination by Tamil Nadu state board with the following subjects:

For B.P.T./B.O.T. programme:

  • The aspirant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology with any other subject in 10+2.
  • Aspirants must have finished 17 years of age before applying for admission to the programme.

B.Pharm. programme:

  • The aspirant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology with any other subject in 10+2.
  • Aspirants must have finished 17 years of age before applying for admission to the programme.

B.Sc. Nursing programme:

  • Aspirants must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (OR) Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with any other subjects in 10+2.
  • Aspirants must be above 17 years of age and less than 30 years at the time of applying for admission. For SC/ST/SCA aspirant, maximum age is 35 years.

Minimum eligibility marks

For B.Pharm. programme:

For OC/BC/BCM/MBC and DNC aspirants

Aspirants must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology/ Mathematics with minimum 35% marks in above subjects.

For SC/SCA/ST aspirants:

Aspirants must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology with minimum 35% of marks in above subjects. It is compulsory for aspirants to pass in English with 35% marks.

For B.Sc. Nursing programme:

For OC/BC/BCM/MBC and DNC aspirants

Aspirants must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology/ Mathematics with minimum 35% marks in above subjects.

For SC/SCA/ST aspirants:

Aspirants must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology with minimum 35% of marks in above subjects. It is compulsory for aspirants to pass in English with 35% marks.

B.P.T./B.O.T. Programme

Aspirants must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany and Zoology with minimum 35% of marks in above subjects.

M.Pharm

The university provides M.Pharm. programme in the following disciplines:

  • M.Pharm. (Quality Assurance)
  • M.Pharm. (Pharmacology)
  • M.Pharm. (Industrial Pharmacy)

Eligibility:

Aspirants should possess B.Pharm. Degree with minimum 50% of marks, of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by this University. For SC/SCA/ST aspirants, the eligibility is a pass in the B.Pharm. Degree Programme

Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses via the online application procedure.

  • Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence. 
  • The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 1000/- for M.Pharm. DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai
  • The aspirant should log on to the official university website and fill the related application form to register for the B.Pharm./ M.Pharm programmes.

Annamalai University B.Pharm & M.Pharm Admissions Procedure 2018

Bachelor of Physiotherapy [BPT], Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm] & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing)

Selection of the aspirants will be done based on the rank obtained in merit list on the basis of marks scored in the science subjects in the qualifying examination.

M.Pharm

Selection of the aspirants to M.Pharm programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination and interview, both organized by the university.

Seats will be reserved for aspirants belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu
