Aligarh Muslim University is a public university situated in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The University has 12 Faculties viz. Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Engineering & Technology, Law, Life Sciences, Medicine, Management Studies & Research, Science, Social Sciences, Theology, and Unani Medicine, each comprising of several Departments of Studies. The university provides more than 300 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level.

AMU provides MBBS and BDS programs. The period of MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) is 4 ½ Years and 1 Year Mandatory Rotatory Internship. BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is a 4 Years program and 1 Year Mandatory Rotatory Internship.

For Admission to MBBS/BDS program:

  • The registration is done in online mode.
  • The at least eligibility to apply for MBBS/ BDS program is class 12.
  • AMU provides 150 seats for MBBS program and 40 seats for BDS program.
  • The selection is done on the basis of NEET score and medical fitness test.

NEET is a national level offline test organizeed by CBSE for admission to MBBS and BDS program. The paper consists of 180 objective type of questions from three sections Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Aligarh Muslim University MBBS BDS Eligibility Criteria

BDS & MBBS

To be applicable for admission to MBBS/ BDS program in Aligarh Muslim University, students required to qualify the clear eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.

  • Students should have passed class 12 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a well-recognised board.
  • The at least age limit to apply for the program is 17 years as on December 31 in the year of admission.
  • Further, the aspirant must have obtained an at least of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

BDS & MBBS

The registration is done in online method only. Students who wish to apply need to submit the application form on the official website of the university. Applications received after the due date will not be entertained.

Participants have to pay an application fee of INR 500 at the time of registration procedure. The same can be paid in online method via net banking, credit card, and debit card.

Steps to Apply:

Step 1: Visit the AMU website i.e. www.amu.ac.in/.

Step 2: Go to the admission tab and select your applied program.

Step 3: Enter the asked details and register.

Step 4: Login after the confirmation of email.

Step 5: Fill the application form with all need information.

Step 6: Upload the scan copy of photograph and signature

Step 7: Click on the button “Submit” and save the application form

Step 8: Pay application fee via net banking/ credit card/ debit card

Step 9: Take the print out of duly filled application form and send to the prescribed address.

The selection is done on the basis of NEET score and Medical Fitness Examination. Shortlisted aspirants on the basis of their NEET score will be called for Medical Fitness Examination. Khadye Marg, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai 400034.

    2. Indian Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Haji Ali Park, 1 K. Qualified aspirants in Medical Fitness Examination will get admission to MBBS/ BDS program.

      • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of NEET score.
      • The university will announce the combined merit list to shortlist the aspirants.
      • Those who will successfully qualify Medical Fitness test need to go for document verification procedure.

      Aspirants belonging to PwD category (Person with Disability) have to certify themselves at one of the under mentioned. Bose Marg, Kolkata – 20.

  • About NEET 2018

    NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is a national level exam organizeed by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The paper is held in multiple languages namely- English, Hindi and Other Regional Languages.

    • The questions paper consists of three sections (Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) worth 180 objective type questions.
    • Students have to attempt all the questions in the period of three hours.
    • One mark will be deducted for each inaccurate answer.
    • Four marks will be honoured for every accurate response.
