Alliance University, Karnataka offers Ph.D. in management and Law for which applications are available in the month of March. University considers extracurricular activities and works experience to select students for the Ph.D. programme. For Ph.D. programme aspirants are also need to send a research synopsis to the University which is evaluated by the University for the Admission. Ph.D. in management is available in various specializations for which selection is made via GMAT/CAT/AAT exams whereas for Ph.D. in law aspirants are need to appear for ACLAT exam. University also offers financial privilege to deserving aspirants. University offers Bridge courses for those aspirants who do not have MBA but seekings to go for Ph.D. in management. Aspirants have the option to either download the application form or get it by a person from the University.

Ph.D. (Management Sciences)

Ph.D. in management is offered by the Alliance School of Business in various specializations.

Duration: 2 years


  • Master’s degree in any branch with at least 60% marks from a recognized University. SC/ST aspirants require 50% marks in the master’s degree.
  • Aspirants should have 2 years of work experience.

NOTE: Those aspirants who do not have an MBA need to do the Bridge Course from Alliance University with the following specializations to go for the Doctoral programme in management.

  6. Management of innovations and technology

Doctor of Philosophy in Law

Ph.D. in Law is offered by the Alliance School of Law.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Master’s degrees in LLM from a recognized university with an at least of 55% are applicable for the course. SC/ST aspirants need to score 50% marks.

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Management & M.Phil/Ph.D. in Law

  • Application form can also be obtained from the Office of Admissions, Alliance university by paying the application fee in the form of Cash or Demand Draft drawn in the favor of ”Alliance university” payable at Bengaluru.
  • Aspirants can fill the form by going to for Ph.D. in law and for Ph.D. in Management.

NOTE: Application fee is INR 3000 for Indian citizens and US$ 100 for foreign nationals.

Alliance University Ph.D. Admission Procedure 2018

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Management & M.Phil/Ph.D. in Law

  • Evaluation of the research synopsis is also made by the University for considering the admission.
  • For Ph.D. in law, aspirants need to appear for Alliance Common Law Admission test (ACLAT) exam organized by the Alliance University.
  • After qualifying, the exams aspirants need to appear for an interview.
  • For Ph.D. in management, aspirants need to appear in Alliance Aptitude test (AAT) organized by the University itself. (For MBA only)

    • Sports Quota:

    Those aspirants who have played sports on National level will get 20% waiver in tuition fee.

    • Differently able:

    Those differently able aspirants who have scored 60% marks or more in 10th, 10+2 and in graduation are subjected to get a 30% of waiver in tuition fee.

    • SC/ST aspirants:

    SC/ST aspirants with at least of 70% in 10th, 10+2 and in graduation are subjected to get 25% of waiver in tuition fee.

    Marks scored in GMAT/CAT are also considered for the selection of aspirants.

University also considers scholastic, extracurricular record and work experience for admission to the Ph.D. programme.


  • Merit-based:

University offers the scholarship to aspirants on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exams.

At Least 90% marks in 10th and 12th: 25% waiver of tuition fees.

At Least 85% marks in 10th and 12th: 20% waiver of tuition fees.

The score of 90 percentile or above in entrance test: 20% waiver of tuition fees.

99 percentile in CAT or a score of 725 and above in GMAT: 100% waiver of tuition fees.
