The University of Allahabad is founded on September 23, 1887.The University is the fourth oldest university in India. Allahabad University presently provides bachelor's, masters and doctoral degrees in different specializations such as science, art, commerce, management, computer application, and law.
The University provides the Master of Education (M.Ed) course which is of two years duration. Aspirants Want admission in the M.Ed program should have at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in B.Ed from any recognised by NCTE.
Admission to M.Ed course is done on the basis of the marks obtained by the Aspirant in the University Entrance Examination. and other eligible categories as per the rules defined by the Central Government Guidelines. Interested students can apply online for this course by filling and submitting the form online in accordance with the instruction given on the website. To apply for this course, the aspirant should have obtained minimum 50% marks or an equivalent in B.Ed from a recognised institute by NCTE.There will be relaxation in at least qualifying marks of 5% for S.C./S.T./O.B.C And P.W.D aspirants as per the Central Government Guidelines(General aspirants should secure at least 50% marks whereas reserved aspirants should secure at least 45% in B.Ed examination).

Selection of students will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination, organized by the university.The admission test will be of 150 multiple choice type questions and each question will be carrying one mark. The time period of the test will be 2 hours.The questions will test the aspirants in the following areas:
The Seats will be reserved for the aspirants who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), the Scheduled Tribes(ST) and OBC.

Reservation for Physically Challenged Aspirants: Aspirants, who have a certified disability of not less than 40% in limb/orthopedic & physical disability of not more than 70% or a certified blind, may be admitted to the related course after the recommendation of Medical Board. 5% of the total seats are reserved for such students.
