University of Allahabad was founded in 1887 and is considered to be the fourth oldest university of India. The University presently provides bachelors, master’s as well as the doctoral degree in multiple streams such as arts, science, commerce, law, vocation, and computer application.
UOA has a dynamic Law Department which provides Undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) as well as doctoral courses to students every year. and LL.D degree under the Department of Law. It provides BA.LLB, LL.B, LL.M, D.Phil.
Students want admission to the Master of Laws programme must have passed Law Graduate degree in any branch with at least 50% marks or equivalent. Aspirants will be shortlisted on the basis of marks secured by them in the PGAT (PG Admission Test), usually organized in the month of May every year.
The aspirants shortlisted via PGAT 2017 will be intimated for the counseling procedure. Application forms for admission to LL.M will be available from the third week of March and the aspirants can submit them upon completion till the second week of April.

Aspirants should have obtained Law Graduate degree from a recognised university with minimum 50% aggregate in marks or equivalent. Students presently in the final year of their LL.B course awaiting their results are also applicable to apply. However, such students have to current their final year mark sheets as proof during the time of admission.
At the time of admission, preference is given to fresh graduates as compared to those who have passed LL.B in earlier years. Accumulative discount of 5% in the Standardized score will be applied to the gap in every year with a maximum of 15% discount i.e. 3 years.
How To Apply

For admission to LL.M programme, aspirants can register via the online application procedure for appearing in the Allahabad University PGAT 2017. Applicable aspirants are advised to visit the official website of Allahabad University and follow the below-given steps:
Aspirants should click the “apply online” button and select the desired course in order to register for the entrance examination
Upon going via all the instructions, the aspirant should click “I Agree” button and fill the form with all the relevant details. The details comprise individual details, uploading passport size photograph and signature, etc.
Upon completing the application form, the aspirant will need to pay the application fee of INR 700/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST/ Physically Handicapped aspirants) either via net banking or E-Challan
Admission Procedure
LLM
Allahabad University LLM Admission is done based on the scores obtained by the aspirants in the PGAT (PG Admission Test 2017). The test will be organized via online method only.
The test paper format is as follows:
Aspirant will be honored 3 marks each for the right response and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong response
The question paper will be divided into 2 parts - Section A will be general aptitude test and will be common to all branches of PGAT. There will be 40 questions in this section based on General science, Hindi, English, reasoning, present affairs etc.
Selection will be purely based on the merit list allowed upon evaluating the performances of aspirants
If the aspirant is an NCC cadet, then a total of 5% marks will be added to his marks during the time of admission procedure offered the cadet should owe a ‘C’ certificate of the National Cadet Corps
Aspirants having 40% or more disability in any limb or any orthopedic structure, or an overall handicap of 70% or a certified blind is allowed to be admitted to the course irrespective of their marks
There is the preference for filling physically handicapped quota where high preference is given to the aspirants having visual impairments, second preference to hearing and last one in case of orthopedic disability.
