Dr. YSR Horticulture University was founded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2007 at Venkataramannagudem in West Godavari District. Therefore, the mandate of the University is Human Resource Development via Education, organize required based research and dissemination of the proven technologies developed via research. The University runs on the Land Grant format followed in USA, with the emphasis on Education, Research, and Extension of Horticulture. It is the second Horticulture University in the country.

The University invites applications for admission to the Bachelor of Science Programme in Horticulture for the academic year 2018-19. The course is for a period of four years and provides a hands-on training in commercial technologies in Horticulture designed for two batches for 14 weeks each, in the 7th and 8th semester of the Programme. It is available in the Horticulture College & Research Institute, at both the Venkataramannagudem campus and Anantharajupet campus.

The admission to the Programme will be via the AP EAMCET(Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) 2018 to be held on April 29th, 2018. The entire application procedure is online and application forms should be submitted online by April 27th, 2018.

YSR Horticulture University B.Sc. Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Horticulture) & B.Sc (Agriculture)

You should have passed the Intermediate Examination of 10+2 pattern organized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the University or Board of Intermediate Education with either of the following subjects:

  • Biological or Natural Science
  • Physical Sciences

B.Sc (Agriculture)


The Application has to be submitted via online method only.

You should visit the website of AP EAMCET to fill in the Application Form.

You should fill the Application Form with the need individual and educational details.

Application Fee: This is the first step of the Registration Procedure. You should pay Rs.350 as Registration Fee and late fee (if eligible) by opting any of the following two modes of payment: (a) AP ONLINE (b) Debit / Credit Card.

After filling the Online Application Form with the need details, you must verify all the details cautiously and then press the β€œSubmit” button.

Subsequently, the filled in Online Application Form will be generated which contains Registration Number along with your filled in details.

Your Registration procedure is now clear.

You should then take a printout of Filled in Online Application Form. You will have to submit this to the Examiner during the examination after affixing a recent color passport size photograph duly attested by the Gazetted Officer or Principal of the College from where you have passed your qualifying examination.

You should save and use the Registration Number for future correspondence.

B.Sc (Agriculture)

You will be selected on the basis of AP EAMCET (Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) 2018. It is for a period of 3 hours.

The paper consists of a total of 160 questions in the multiple choice question pattern. However, if you have studied the qualifying examination in Urdu medium and wish to avail assistance for translating the questions into Urdu, it will be allotted a Test Centre at Kurnool only.

You should be able to secure an at least of 25% of the maximum marks considered for ranking to qualify the AP EAMCET-2018. You need to response all questions. The syllabus will be based on the 10+2 qualifying examination syllabus. It involves 80 questions on Mathematics, 40 questions each in Physics and Chemistry. The detailed syllabus is given on the EAMCET website.

The medium for the exam will be English and Telugu. However, you will not require any at least qualifying marks if you belong to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category.

Each accurate response is honored with one mark and there is no negative marking for an inaccurate response.

YSR Horticulture University B.Sc. Admissions 2018 Reservation Criteria

15% of the seats (23) are earmarked for ICAR Quota over and above the 150 seats, for the students from states other than Andhra Pradesh.
