Method of Application
Xavier University is a Jesuit Catholic University situated in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. The University was founded in 2013 and provides a number of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral courses to its students.
Students are provided courses in six main areas, also known as the schools of the University. These are as follows: The Xavier Institute of Business Management (XIMB), the Xavier School of Sustainability (XSOS), the Xavier School of Commerce (XSC), the Xavier School of Human Resource Management (XaHR), the Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM), and the Xavier School of Communications (XCOMM).
The University provides different Doctoral (Ph.D.) courses to its students with various specializations. X-RAT is a Research Aptitude Test organized by the Xavier University itself. The students want admission to such programs required to appear for X-RAT.
Students can also appear in UGC-NET for admissions. The University also provides scholarships to the Doctoral students. Though, UGC-NET qualified students will be exempted from taking X-RAT.

The students want admission in any of the Doctoral courses provided by the University must hold a Master's Degree. Also, the student must hold the degree with not less than 55% marks* from a recognised University/ Institution.
Note: If marks are available on a letter-grade system, then, an at least cumulative score of 5.5 on a ten-point scale is need to be applicable for admission.The Master's degree must be in a concerned Management/ Communication branch.
The aspirants wishing to appear for UGC NET must apply online at the official website of CBSE. Further, they are to fill all their individual details along with educational qualifications and valid contact details. Scanned images of their photograph and signature are also to be uploaded.
The application submission is finished with the payment of application fees.
Furthermore, the students have to apply for admission in XUB separately by filling an application form available at the official website of the University. The test will be followed by an Interview followed by the Selection/ Admission process.Students who have not appeared for the UGC NET also required filling the same application form. These students will be required to appear in X-RAT later.
UGC-NET qualified students will be exempted from taking this test.
Aspirants once registered will have to wait for shortlisted students. Hostel rooms are allotted to the students as per their required.
The coursework for the students then starts as per the University guidelines, which is generally from July.Students are finally selected on the basis of their performance in X-RAT/ UGC-NET, Individual Interview, academic records, and SOP.
The selected students are informed about their selection via an e-mail, which is sent to their registered e-mail id. In case, a student is UGC-NET qualified, then (s)he is exempted from appearing in X-RAT.
The students have to appear for an Interview also. To confirm their admission, students required to pay the need fee. Students are shortlisted on the basis of their past academic records as well as 'Statement of Purpose' (SOP).
The Statement of Purpose describes as to why a student seekings to join the course in question, why does he/she consider himself/herself worthy for admission and what will (s)he does after the completion of the course.
The shortlisted students further need to appear in Research Aptitude Test (X-RAT) organized by Xavier University itself.
