About University

Bharath University was established in 1984 as Bharath Institute of Science and Technology. The institute was awarded the deemed university status in 2003 and hence the name was changed to Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. Bharath University was established under the aegis of Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust with the aim of imparting higher knowledge in Science and Technology to the aspiring boys and girls so that they can emerge as competent scientists, engineers and technologists of repute.

• The mission of Bharath University is to create world-class environand state-of-the-art facilities for a promising future Accreditation by NAAC (UGC, Govt. of India)
• Bharath University offers 39 Undergraduate programs and 139 Postgraduate programs
• More than one third of the students are women in the University

• Ekalavya 2013-It is a technical fest. Events were Paper Presentation, Debugging, Adzap, Photography,
  Quiz .
• Vozilo 2014- It is a Technical Symposium. Events held in University are Technical, Sports, Workshop, Seminar.
• Ilakku 2014- It is a technical feast for techno and logical minds. This event is being organized and conducted by the Department of Information Technology.
