NEET Post Graduate (PG) 2018

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate, famously known as NEET-PG is a national level examination that is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) every year. Aspirants interested in MD/MS or Post Graduate Diploma Courses should appear for NEET Post Graduate 2018
Latest Update: Srinagar and Baramulla are the two exam centers set up in Kashmir. 
  • An at least of 50% is needed to qualify for the examination (for General aspirants).

Eligibility Criteria for NEET PG 2018

Before applying for NEET Post Graduate 2018, you must know about the eligibility criteria of NEET Post Graduate exam. Look at the following points that mention which aspirants are applicable for appearing in NEET Post Graduate 2018 examination.

  • Aspirants must have finished one year of internship. In case anyone has not finished a year of internship, they should ensure that his internship will be clear on or before March 31, 2018.
  • Aspirants who have passed MBBS from Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are not applicable for All India 50 % quota seats.
  • Only Indian citizens can apply for the examination.
  • Only those aspirants can apply for NEET Post Graduate who has an MBBS degree or a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognised by Medical Council Act of India (MCI).
  • Such aspirants must produce an affidavit from the Government of India under central pool seats. They must produce the application by November 31, 2017 to NBE, Delhi.

Aspirants will not be applicable to give the exam if the medical institute from which they have passed MBBS is not recognised by MCI and if they haven’t finished their internship within the prescribed time. Aspirants will also be not able to appear for the examination if they have not submitted the application form on time, in the prescribed attitude.

NEET Post Graduate Application Form 2018

Aspirants who wish to appear for NEET Post Graduate 2018 can get the application form from the official website in the month of September 2017. NEET Post Graduate 2018 Application Form will be available only in the online mode. Steps to clear the application procedure is as follows: Participants should first check if they are applicable before filling the application form.

  • Also, aspirants will have to upload the image of their photo ID proof and MCI/ SMC certificate.
  • A username and password will have to be created as login credentials.
  • Any rectification on the application form can be made till the last date of registration i.e., November 27, 2017.
  • Aspirants can choose the examination center, date and time of examination when they are filling the application form.

  • Aspirants should make the payment via debit/credit card or net banking only.
  • They will then have to fill in the need information such as educational history, internship details, and communication details.
  • Recent colored photograph and digitalized signature will have to be uploaded.
  • The application fee will be INR 3750 (for General and OBC categories) and INR 2750 (for SC/ST/PWD categories)

If aspirants fail to register for NEET Post Graduate 2018 before the last date, they can apply for the next session only. After the last date of registration, the registration link of NEET Post Graduate 2018 will be clearly disabled on the official website. National Board of Examination will not entertain any request by aspirants.

NEET PG Hall Ticket 2018

NEET Post Graduate 2018 Hall Ticket will be available online within 24 hours of registration and exam schedule. The computer generated slip is a hall ticket-cum-confirmation slip.

  • Aspirants required to take the printout of the hall ticket and paste a photograph on it.
  • The photograph must have a caption indicating the name of aspirant and date of taking photograph at the bottom of the photo.
  • Aspirants will not be allowed to appear in the examination if they fail to carry the hall ticket with the attached photograph.
  • They will also have to carry their Permanent and Provisional MCI/SMC certificate for verification.
  • Additionally, aspirants also required carrying a valid photo ID proof (Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, Aadhaar Card or Driving License) at the exam center.

The following details are mentioned on the hall ticket: Name of Aspirant, Category, Gender, Date of Birth, Examination Date and Time, Reporting Time, Period of Exam, Name, and Address of Exam Center and Exam Day Instructions.

Aspirants should report to the exam center at the time mentioned on their hall ticket. Latecomers will not be allowed permission to give the examination once the test has started.

NEET PG 2018 Exam Centers

Aspirants required to mention their choice of the exam city when they are filling the application form. Aspirants get to choose their exam center, date, and session while filling the application form. Aspirants can submit multiple choices. The availability of exam center is purely on first come first serve basis. Only those options will be displayed that are available to the aspirants at the time of scheduling. Only one exam center of NEET Post Graduate 2018 will be situated to each aspirant.

NEET Post Graduate 2018 will be held in all the major cities of the country. 9 exam centers have been recently comprised in the list. There are 41 exam centers in total for NEET Post Graduate 2018. Aspirants must keep in mind that the exam center will not be altered, once it is allotted to them.

Exam Format for NEET PG 2018

NEET Post Graduate 2018 will be an online (computer-based test) mode. Aspirants who wish to appear for the examination must have detailed information about NEET Post Graduate 2018 Exam Format so that they can prepare accordingly. It is similar to an offline examination where the question paper is set up by experts. However, it is not an internet-based test.

  • During the 15-minute test tutorial, aspirants can see the different features such as navigating between questions, reviewing them, selecting them, etc.
  • A demo test of 15 minutes will be offered before the start of the main examination.
  • The exam will be in English Language only.
  • Aspirants will be offered with the demo test so that they can familiarize with the format of the exam.

Syllabus for NEET PG 2018

NEET PG does not require aspirants to do a lot of extra studies. It is a test of knowledge and skills that aspirants are expected to already have.   • The personal scorecard will be displayed on the screen.
  • Aspirants will have to log in to the official website to download their scorecard.
  • The details need are Confirmation ID, Testing ID and Date of Birth as on the application form.
  • Aspirants will have to download and print it for further procedures.

NEET Post Graduate 2018 score will be valid for the academic year 2018 only. Seats in colleges and universities will be allotted to aspirants according to the merit position secured by them in NEET Post Graduate examination. NEET Post Graduate 2018 rank card is required during the time of counseling.

Merit List for NEET PG 2018

Various merit lists will be prepared on the basis of rank scored by every aspirant in NEET Post Graduate 2018. There are 3 merit lists that will be prepared, namely:

  1. All India NEET Post Graduate 2018 Rank
  2. All India 50% Quota Rank
  3. All India 50% Category Rank
  4. State quota or private medical colleges/ AFMS Rank 

Cut off for NEET PG 2018

The at least qualifying marks of NEET Post Graduate 2018 is various for various category aspirants. It is compulsory for aspirants to get the prescribed percentile with respect to the category they belong. The qualifying criteria for different category aspirants are announced by the official authorities.

  • The percentile rank is used to standardize the score secured in the examination.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation of response sheets, therefore, the rank secured by an aspirant is final.
  • Percentage rank will tell about the overall performance of the aspirant in the exam while percentile rank will give the comparison between two students.

NBE will offer the result of aspirants for state quota seats. The authorities will prepare the merit list after the implication of their own norms and rules. The reservation policies of various authorities and medical institutes vary. Medical Council Committee will hold only the 15 % All India quota counseling. 

Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case two aspirants secured the same marks, the tie will be determined according to the age of the candidate. Older aspirant will get the first preference than the younger ones.

Counseling Procedure of NEET PG 2018

NEET Post Graduate 2018 Counseling of aspirants will take place according to their rank, namely All India NEET Post Graduate 2018 Rank, All India 50 % Quota Category Rank, All India 50 % Quota Rank and State Quota Rank.

Aspirants required to fill their choice of courses and colleges in the counseling procedure. Documents that aspirants required to show during the time of counseling are as follows: Admission of aspirants will depend on their rank, filled preferences, and availability of seats.

The counseling procedure will be conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) and DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services) in the online mode. The State Government will take care of the seat allocation for the rest of 50% seats. Counseling will be organized by them for giving admission to 50% All India Quota Seats.
