XAT-Xavier Aptitude Test 2019

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level management entrance examination, organized by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Associate Management Institutes) for MBA-candidates want admission into PG Programs in Management. Important Dates for XAT 2019

XAT 2019 notification for Registration is expected to be allocated by XLRI in August, 2018. The tentative calendar of events for XAT 2019 is tabulated below. XAT-candidates are advised to keep a tab on the official portal for any further updates or notifications regarding the examination schedule.

Eligibility Criteria for XAT 2019

XAT 2019 candidates are advised to cautiously study the eligibility criteria before filling XAT Application Form 2019 and the same has been mentioned below.

• Valid GMAT scores of international aspirants are acceptable. However, aspirants from Dubai and Kathmandu have the choice of qualifying either XAT or GMAT.
• Those with Bachelor’s Degree in the 10+2+2 method are not applicable to apply.
• There is no prescribed at least aggregate score in qualifying examination criteria for XAT 2019.
• Bachelor’s Degree of at least 3-years period or equivalent in any branch, from a recognised University.
• Participants who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree and will clear the qualifying examination by June 2018 are also applicable to apply for XAT 2019.
• There is no upper age limit for XAT 2019.

XAT 2019 Application Form

XAT 2019 Registration is an online procedure. XAT Registration 2019 involves 5 steps, which are Registration, Filling of XAT Application Form 2019, Fee Payment, Uploading Documents, and Form Submission. The application form can be accessed on the official portal i.e. www.xatonline.in. Aspirants can submit XAT Application Form 2019 from August, 2018 until November, 2018. Each step is described below:

1. Registration- Visit the official website and register using your individual details (Name, Contact Details and Email ID). You will receive a unique ID and Password to clear further procedure.
2. Fill Application Form- Fill-in your individual and academic details, work experience, preferred course, and exam center.
3. Fee Payment- Requisite XAT Application Fee must be paid in either online (through Debit/Credit cards, Net Banking, Mobile Wallets) or offline method (Challan). The Application Fee for XAT 2019 is INR 1650 (INR 2000 if you pay the late fee) for all categories.

Note- All aspirants who pay XAT Application Fee via Demand Draft must send a copy of confirmation page besides the Demand Draft within 15 days from the date of issuance of demand draft. The contact details are offered below:

4. Upload Documents- Upload scanned images of your recent photograph and signature.

Clear scanned images of participants’ recent photograph and signature required to be uploaded to the Application Form.

5. Confirmation Page- Post previewing all the filled data, you will receive a confirmation page.

Note: In case a participant does not receive the registration confirmation mail along with provisional XAT UID & Password, within 24 hours of signing up, they are requested to write to [email protected] citing the primary email ID and the issue or call the Helpdesk on 1800 419 2929 (08.00 a.m. till 08.00 p.m. IST )

XAT 2019 Hall Ticket

XAT 2019 Admit card is expected to be made available on the official portal in December 2018. Admit cards of only those aspirants who’s XAT Application Form 2019 has been accepted, will be available for download.

XLRI will not send hard copies of XAT 2019 Hall Ticket through email or courier to any participants. It has to be downloaded from the official website.

XAT Hall Ticket 2019 is a compulsory document that must be kept safe until the admission procedure. At the time of the test as well as selection and admission procedure, the hall ticket has to be supported with a valid photo ID allocated by the Government of India. Steps involved in downloading the XAT 2019 Hall Ticket are:

1. Visit the official website of XAT i.e. www.xatonline.in
2. Select on “Download XAT Hall Ticket 2019” link
3. Enter participant’s XAT UID and password to reach the hall ticket.
4. Thoroughly check the details printed on XAT Hall Ticket 2019.
5. Download the hall ticket and print multiple copies of the same for future use.

Exam Centers for XAT 2019

XAT 2018 is being held in about 49 Indian cities apart from the International exam centers in Kathmandu and Dubai. XAT 2019 is also expected to be held in as many locations, if not more, to make the test more convenient and accessible for participants. Here is a tentative list of exam cities for XAT 2019:

Exam Format for XAT 2019

XAT 2019 will be an online, computer-based test instead of the traditional offline, paper-based one comprising both objective and subjective questions. It is divided into 2 parts, namely Part A and Part B with 78 questions in the former and 25 questions in the latter.

• Part- B will pose questions on General Knowledge. Aspirants will also be asked to write an Essay.
• Part-A of XAT 2019 includes 3 sections – English Language & Logical Reasoning, Judgement Making, and Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability.

Time allotted for solving Part-A of XAT 2019 is 170 minutes while Part-B required being finished in 35 minutes. And, as per the marking scheme for XAT 2019, there is no negative marking in Part-B while 0.25 marks will be deducted for an inaccurate answer in Part-A.

Syllabus for XAT 2019

There is no officially prescribed syllabus for XAT 2019. XAT Syllabus is based on past trends of XAT question papers and syllabus is drawn from the topics which have appeared in earlier XAT exams. However, their composition, pattern, and number may change with each subsequent edition of XAT.

XAT 2019 Part A is an objective type paper covering Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability, English Language and Reasoning, and Judgement Making. An indicative list of topics covered in these sections are:

XAT Part B is a subjective paper based on questions relating to General Knowledge and also comprises writing an essay.

Economics, finance, national and international present affairs are a few of the many topics on which questions are posed in XAT. Questions are also based on conventional GK.

XAT 2019 Result

XAT Result 2019is expected to be released online by the end of January 2019 by XLRI Jamshedpur. Successful students having scores that match the published XAT Cut-Off can proceed to the advanced selection rounds of Group Discussion and Individual Interview. Aspirants can reach their scorecards by visiting the official website i.e. www.xatonline.in. XAT Scores are valid for 1 year.

The scorecard can be downloaded from the official website in the following steps:

1. Visit the official website i.e. www.xatonline.in
2. Click the Results tab to enter Login UID and password.
3. View result containing marks secured section-wise as well as overall rank.
4. Print the scorecard for future use.

Note: XLRI, Jamshedpur does not take the responsibility of sending hard copies of scorecards to aspirants by courier or post.

Cut-Off for XAT 2019

The cut-off score for XAT would comprise the at least percentile to be scored by each aspirant in the test. On the basis of XAT Cut Off, aspirants will be shortlisted for further Group Discussion and Individual Interview rounds for admission. Other participating institutes also have their personal Cut Off scores. XAT Cut Off varies for various programs provided by XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Selection Process for XAT 2019

Aspirants will be shortlisted for the selection process in XAT 2019 on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam and XAT Cut Off scores. While some institutes have both GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Individual Interview) rounds, others only have either of the two.

Group Discussion

• The topics would mostly be concerned to present affairs, politics, trending social issues, or any other issue concerning advertising, technology, business or education etc.
• Groups of 8 – 15 participating aspirants are formed and are asked to discuss a given topic for about 15-20 minutes.
• Aspirants are adjudged in mostly soft skills like communication skills, assertiveness, team management skills, ability to resolve conflicts, leadership qualities etc.

Individual Interview

• The questions in the Individual Interview round are centered around aspirants’ background, academics, achievements and motivation behind choosing a career in management.
• Aspirants need to appear for an interview with an interview panel if they are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in GD.
• This round aims to determine the communication skills, confidence, and ability to think under pressure among aspirants.
• PI is usually the final round of selection procedure.

Merit List of XAT 2019

The Merit List of XAT 2019 is created by including various components such as XAT 2019 score, performance in GD & PI, academic records, work experience, and the overall profile of the aspirant. The weight of these various components in XLRI is tabulated below. This division of scores applies to all the programs provided by XLRI.

It should be noted that post-XAT 2019, there will not be any centralized counselling process. Aspirants will be selected for admission to these Institutes on the basis of XAT 2019 cut-off score, performance in the GD/PI round and the final merit list prepared for the successful aspirants. Aspirants will have to personally apply for each Member Institutes of XAMI or other participating institutes of XAT 2019 with their scorecard.
