UPSEE Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2018

Dr.A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will announce the notification and UPSEE 2018 Exam Format on its official website, The information brochure along with the exam format will be announced in the month of January 2018.

UPSEE 2018 (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) will include a number of papers, various for each course. The standard of the entrance test will be that of Higher Secondary or equivalent exam for Under Graduate courses and of graduation level for Post Graduate programs. There has been no change in the format of UPSEE 2018 exam and it will be the same as that for 2017. AKTU will design 11 test papers for admission into different Under Graduate engineering courses.

  • The medium of language will be English and Hindi.
  • Each question will carry 4 marks and negative marking is not eligible.     
  • The exam will consist of objective questions in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • The total number of questions will vary in each paper. The maximum marks an aspirant can get in each paper and also the time period will vary according to paper.
  • The method of the exam will depend on the paper chosen by the aspirant.

UPSEE 2018 is a state level exam that will be held on April 15, 21 and 22, 2018. It is conducted by the AKTU organized for first-year degree level as also for lateral entry into Engineering, Management, and other programs in different institutes across Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2018-2019.

UPSEE 2018 will include a number of papers. Candidates must choose the paper according to the course they wish to pursue. The courses with their requirement of respective papers to be attempted are given below:

UPSEE Exam Format 2018 in Detail

UPSEE 2018 will include of 11 papers scheduled to be organized on 3 days. Candidates will be honored +4 marks for every accurate response. The test will include of objective type questions to be responded in 180 minutes. The maximum obtainable marks will depend on the different UPSEE Papers. The subjects tested in the exam will depend on the technical subject chosen by the aspirant.

The details about the exam format are explained completely in this article:

  • Method of exam: UPSEE 2018 will be organized in online and offline method depending on the papers.

Offline Mode- Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4 will be organized through the offline mode. Candidates will need to mark their responses on an OMR sheet.

Online Mode- Paper 5, Paper 6, Paper 7, Paper 8, Paper 9, Paper 10 and Paper 11 will be organized in the offline method i.e. it will be a computer-based test.

  • Language: The test paper will be available in English and Hindi language. It will not be offered in any other language and any request to do so shall not be entertained.
  • Type of Question: The exam will have objective type questions. All the questions will be in the form of MCQs. Each question will have 4 alternative options suggested as responses, out of which the participant must choose one that seems the most suitable response.

Marking Scheme for UPSEE 2018

Participants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt the questions in the entrance test. The marking scheme is said as follows: It should be noted that although there is no negative marking, a record of the total number of inaccurate responses of participants will be kept for preparing the merit list. There will be no change in the marking scheme of UPSEE 2018 as it was for the year 2017.

Syllabus for UPSEE 2018 Exam

UPSEE 2018 syllabus is based on the entire syllabus of 10+2 level (Class 11th and 12th) for Under Graduate courses and graduate level for Post Graduate courses. The syllabus of different programs for the test will be given in the prospectus available on the official website.

UPSEE 2018 Important Instructions

Every personal must ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum of the exam hall and to ensure that the UPSEE 2018 examination proceeds properly.

  • Participants must use a ballpoint pen (Black/Blue) only to mark their responses in the OMR sheets in the UPSEE 2018 exam.
  • Questions will be given in both, English and Hindi languages. In case of ambiguity, the English version will be considered final.
  • A record of the number of inaccurate responses given by each candidate will be maintained. This will be used as tie-breaking criteria.
  • Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be evaluated by OMR methodology. Candidates must mark their answers on OMR sheets.
