UPSC invites applications for appointment of Manager Grade-1/section officer’s vacancy. The notification regarding appointment has been announced on the official website of UPSC i.e.

Aspirants who are applicable and interested can apply for the vacancy at The last date to submit the application form is December 2017. The exam will be organizeed in the month of January/ February 2018.

The final selection of the aspirants will be based on the aspirants’ performance collectively in the written exam and interview. Aspirants with scores above the mentioned Cutoff marks will be shortlisted for the interview round.

Vacancy Details of UPSC Appointment 2018

UPSC provides reservation to aspirants who are Physically Challenged, Handicapped or orthopedically or Cerebral Palsy with one leg affected (Right or Left) or Locomotor Disability or having One arm affected (Right or Left).

The total number of vacancies that are reserved for Manager Grade – I/ Section Officer is 13. These are the permanent posts and aspirants pay scale lies between INR 15600-30,100/- plus Grade pay amount of INR 5400/-.

Aspirants who are shortlisted for Manager Grade – I/ Section Officer required to perform the following duties:

  • They have to do General Administration of Depot and maintain fresh arrivals and personnel records of employees.
  • Aspirants required to maintain store records and also do promotions or pay fixation or transfers or resignation and re-employment.
  • Aspirants have to make sure that customer gets high-level gratification.
  • Aspirants will need to do Accounting, Planning, Distribution and Provisioning of canteen according to the UPSC policy.
  • They have to give store concerned information straight to Assistant General Manager for effective control.

Eligibility for UPSC Appointment 2018

Qualification: Aspirants must possess a degree, diploma/degree in Business Management or Material Management from the recognized university.

Experience: Aspirants must have three years work experience in Administration, Accounts and Founding work in Government Office or Public body or a Commercial Organization of repute.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Knowledge of Government rules and regulations are also necessary.
  • Those who seek to apply must also have an experience of storage, distribution and accounting or stores.

Age: Aspirant’s maximum age limit will be 35 years.


  • The aspirant must be either Indian citizen or subject of Nepal or subject of Bhutan.
  • Aspirants should be Tibetan refugee who comes to India before January 1, 1962, with intention of settling in India.

Reservation for UPSC Appointment 2018

UPSC provides Reservation and Relaxation under the government norms only when the physical disability of aspirant is more than 40%. The following table shows the category wise age relaxation criteria:

How to Apply for UPSC Appointment

Aspirants must have to follow the below steps to apply for UPSC Appointment for the posts like Manager Grade – I/ Section Officer:

  • Aspirants have to apply only via online method by visiting the official website “”
  • Aspirants who seeking to apply for more than one post have to apply separately for each post and also pay the fees for each post.
  • Aspirants have to pay the fees of amount INR 25/- either by sending cash money in any discipline of SBI or by using net banking facility by using visa or master credit or debit card.
  • Aspirants are advised to take the printout of finally submitted Online Appointment Application form. Forms do not need to submit either by post or by hands.
  • If the aspirants did not submit the prescribed fees their application form will be rejected. Whereas fees submitted by aspirants is non-refundable.

Exam Format for UPSC Appointment

The total period to clear the examination is 2 hours carries a maximum of 100 marks. The examination is included of objective type questions with multiple choice responses. All the questions in the examination will carry equal marks.

The test will be organizeed both in Hindi as well as English medium. No marks will be deducted if no response is marked for a question. Aspirants are advised to cautiously attempt the responses because the very wrong response will carry deduction of one-third marks.

Selection Procedure of UPSC Appointment 2018

Aspirants will be shortlisted on the basis of marks secured by them in Computer-Based Appointment test (CBRT). Aspirants have to score more than mentioned Cutoffs marks so that they can be shortlisted for interview.

According to the information offered by the aspirant in the online application form, they will be shortlisted for interview. Aspirants must have to bring the following documents at the time of interview:

  1. 10th certificate or equivalent certificate including date of birth alloted by central/ state board.
  2. Certificate of degree/ diploma along with mark sheets of all academic years as educational proof.
  3. Experience certificate from the organisation/ departmental head claiming complete period of the employment
  4. Caste certificate (if eligible)
  5. Physically Handicapped certificate alloted by competent authority by PH persons on the basis of medical fitness.

If an aspirant changes their name after marriage or divorce or remarriage etc they have to submit the following documents along with all the above-mentioned documents:

  1. In the case of married women: Photocopy of Husband’s passport showing the name of spouses or attested copy of marriage certificate alloted by the registrar of marriage or affidavit from husband and wife along with joint photograph before the Oath Commissioner.
  2. In the case of re-marriage women: Divorce/ Death certificate and photocopy of current husband certificate or attested copy of marriage certificate alloted by the registrar of marriage or affidavit from husband and wife along with joint photograph before the Oath Commissioner.

In the case of divorce women: Copy of divorce certificate and affidavit before the Oath Commissioner.
