UPSC CISF Recruitment 2018 for Assistant Commandant Vacancies

UPSC has announced notification inviting applicable aspirants for filling up of assistant commandant posts in CISF. The appointment exam will be held on March 4 to fill 29 vacancies. Aspirants can check the detailed notification at

  • Aspirants required to be graduates from a government recognised university, Institute of college. Check CISF Assistant Commandant Eligibility
  • Candidates selected for UPSC can get the Pay Scale of INR 15600 with a Grade Pay of INR 5400 + Dearness Allowances (DA) of INR 26250. 
  • Age rule relaxation will be as per government rules.
  • Aspirants will have to pass a written test, followed by a physical and medical standard test as well as an individuality test. Check CISF Assistant Commandant Selection Procedure
  • Aspirants should have experience of four years of regular service as on January 1, 2018 in the Sub Inspector (GD) / Inspector (GD) rank.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC CISF 2018

  • NCC B or C certificate holders will be given preference during interview round
  • Maximum 3 attempts are allowed
  • Participant must be graduate from a recognised University

Age limit: Aspirant must be born on or after August 2, 1983. Age relaxation for reserved categories is eligible as per Government rules.

UPSC CISF 2018 How to Apply for Assistant Commandant Post?

Aspirants can apply online on the official website before the last date of form submission i.e. December 29, 2017. The basic registration steps are as follows: -

  1. Visit official website i.e.
  2. On the right side, under what’s new section click on CISF AC (EXE) LDCE 2018 notification
  3. Read the instructions cautiously
  4. Click on appointment tab and apply with online appointment application form
  5. Fill the need details asked in the application form
  6. Print a hard copy of application form

Lastly, send the duly filled application form to the related authorities on the following address-

Note: - Reserved category aspirants are exempted from the application fee

CISF Assistant Commandant 2018 Exam Format

The exams consist of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper-1 will be General Awareness and Intelligence test and Paper 2 will be English Proficiency test.

Exam Format Highlights for Paper-1

  • Exam period will be 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • The question papers will be divided into 2 parts as follows
  • Maximum marks will be 30
  • Medium of Questions will be English or Hindi depending upon aspirant’s preference

Exam Format Highlights for Paper-2

Paper 2 is organizeed to check aspirant’s writing skills. They will be asked to write essays, precis, and comprehension

  • Medium of Exam will be English only
  • Maximum marks will be 100
  • Exam will be of 2 Hours duration

CISF Assistant Commandant 2018 Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure involves a written test followed by physical test and medical standard test. Both the tests are qualifying in nature and will be organizeed by CISF
