TS PGECET Exam Pattern 2018

TS PGECET 2018 will be organized in the third week of May 2018. Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) will announce the notification and exam format for TS PGECET 2018 on its official website www.pgecet.tsche.ac.in. The exam will be organized in online method only.

  • The period of PGECET is 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • The examination will be organized in Online Method only i.e. it is a Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • TS PGECET 2018 will consist of objective questions in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • The medium of the exam is English only.
  • The period of TS PGECET is 2 hours (120 minutes).

The syllabus of the entrance test will be based on graduation level knowledge for each field.

TS PGECET 2018 Exam Format in detail

TS PGECET 2018 will be held in the last week of May 2018. The details about the exam format are explained completely in this article. The student will be honored 1 mark for every accurate response, the total marks being 120. The subjects tested in the exam will depend on the technical subject chosen by the candidate as the specialization course. The test will include 120 objective type questions to be responses in 120 minutes. The test will include a single paper to be organized on 4 consecutive days.

  • The number of questions: The candidate will need to solve a total of 120 MCQs.
  • Language: The exam paper will be available in the English language only.
  • Duration: All the students will be given 2 hours to clear the exam. No extra time will be given to any student.
  • Type of Question: The test will consist of objective type questions. All the questions will be in the form of MCQs. Every question will have 4 alternative options suggested as responses, out of which the student must choose one that seems the most appropriate response.
  • Method of exam: TS PGECET 2018 is an online test. The exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).

Marking Scheme for TS PGECET 2018

The candidates must know marking scheme in order to decide how to tackle the questions in Post Graduate entrance exam. The marking scheme of TS PGECET 2018 is said as follows: No change is expected in the marking scheme and it is the same as it was for the earlier year.

  • No mark will be deducted from the score of the aspirant for leaving a question blank or failure in attempting it.
  • No penalty will be charged for marking inaccurate or wrong responses i.e. negative marking is not eligible. Hence, no mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • The marking of two options as responses is not possible as it is an online test.
  • 1 mark will be honored to the participants for marking every correct answer.

Qualifying Marks for TS PGECET 2018

TSCHE has specified the qualifying marks for TS PGECET 2018 as 30 for the General Category aspirants. The candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be exempted from this cut off and there will be no qualifying marks for them. A merit list of shortlisted candidates for respective courses will be declared and these participants must attend TS PGECET 2018 Counseling. Admissions to all Post Graduate courses will be done based on merit only.

TS PGECET 2018 Important Instructions

Participants must ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum of the exam hall and to ensure that the examination proceeds properly.

  • Reporting time is 1 hour before the exam commences.
  • Items like slide rulers, calculator, logarithm table, mobile phones etc. will not be allowed inside the exam center.
  • To choose an answer, simply click on the suitable option using the mouse. To change your answer, click on the option you wish to and that will be marked as your response.
  • The computer screen will also display the time left for the exam to get over along with the question.
