NEST Application Form 2019

NEST 2019 Application Form will be available from January 2019 in the online method only. Aspirants can fill the form at the official website of NEST. The last date of form submission is March 2019. A aspirant must have a valid e-mail id for registering for the exam. All candidates must visit the official website of NEST 2019 to register themselves followed by filling the application form.

Participants are advised to go via the available brochure and read it cautiously before filling up the application form. Application fee of INR 1000 for General and OBC aspirants while INR 500 for reserved aspirants must also be filled. After successfully filling up NEST Application Form, aspirants can download their NEST 2019 Hall Ticket in the second week of April 2019.

National Entrance Screening Test 2019 or NEST 2019 is a compulsory exam for getting admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc programme in basic sciences. On the basis of NEST score, aspirants are granted admission at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai.

Eligibility Criteria for NEST Exam 2019

An aspirant must fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility requirements to appear for NEST 2019 Examination.

  • Aspirant should be from science stream
  • Those who have passed class XII examination or equivalent from any recognised Board in India in 2017 or 2018 or are appearing in 2019 are also applicable to apply.
  • For scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST) and physical disabilities (PD) category aspirants, there is a relaxation of 5%.
  • He/she should have studied any combination of Biology/Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics in class 12
  • At Least 60% aggregate marks in class 12th is needed for General and OBC category aspirants

Age Limit

  • General and OBC category aspirants should be born on or after August 01, 1998
  • For SC / ST / PD aspirants the age limit is relaxed by 5 years as on after August 01, 1993

How to Fill NEST Application Form 2019?

NEST 2019 Application procedure includes 4 steps: Registration, Filling online application form, Uploading documents and Payment of application fees.   However, aspirants must make sure that they consider the below-mentioned important points before they fill the application form.

  • An aspirant can log in to his/her NEST 2019 Application profile as many times as he/she seekings y using same login details. However, if the form is submitted once, no change can be made afterward.
  • For safety purposes, an aspirant can retrieve the password only twice.
  • In case an aspirant forgets the password to log in, he/she should click on the ‘Forget Password’ link on the registration page and follow the directions.

Step-1 Registration

  • Click on ‘Apply Online’
  • Write participant’s name in the given space
  • Aspirant will receive a message containing a link to confirm the registration on the registered mail id
  • Offer a valid e-mail id
  • Create a password of and remember the same for future reference
  • Aspirant obligatory to click on the offered link to confirm the registration

Step 2- Filling online application form

  • If the aggregate is given in CGPA form instead of the percentage than an aspirant needs to calculate the equivalent percentage as per the guidelines of the respective board and mention the same.
  • Fill individual details of the aspirant such as choice of exam centers and academic details are asked for.
  • Login using your credentials.
  • Aspirants also have to fill the details of their qualifying examinations detail.

After filling up all the details cautiously and after rechecking all the entries again, the aspirant has to save and proceed to the next step. One must take care that information once submitted cannot be changed under any circumstance. So it is advised to fill the application form cautiously.

Step 3: Uploading scanned documents

In the next step, after successfully saving and submitting the individual and academic information in online filled NEST 2019 Application Form, an aspirant is asked to upload his/her scanned photograph and signature. To upload the pictures one must follow these instructions:

  • Aspirant must first scan the passport size photograph and his/her signature and save in .jpeg pattern
  • Size of the image should be less than 100 KB each
  • There should be no white space around the photo or signature
  • The photograph and signature should be in a JPost Graduate pattern

Step 4: Payment of Application Fees

NEST 2019 Application Fees can be paid via two methods i.e. online method and offline method. An aspirant can choose any one of these methods to make the payment of NEST 2019 Application Fees.

  • Offline Method: Payment via offline method is done via DD drawn in favor of NISER-NEST, payable at Bhubaneswar. The draft, along with the summary page generated after submission of Application Form should access NEST office on or before March 15, 2019. The aspirant must write his/her name and application no. on the back of the Demand Draft.
  • Online Method: By the opting online method of payment an aspirant can pay the fees by using Credit card/Debit card/Net banking. Online payment is possible via Tech Procedure/SBI e-Pay payments gateways. SBI-e-Pay payment gateway offers the maximum of 3 chances for each application number to retry payment against failed transactions. However, there is no such limit for Tech Procedure payment gateway. The amount debited for failed transactions is refunded automatically within 7 days. Payment status is updated only if the transaction is successful

Note: DT/VJ/NT aspirants are advised to pay fees eligible for OBC category. The aspirant can log in to his/her application account and track updates on the application/payment after about two weeks for DD and 3 days for online payment.

After fee payment, a single page preview of NEST 2019 Application Form is generated. Verify the details offered. The page contains all the information filled by the aspirant. In case of any changes in the filled-in application, then the aspirant can re-login and make the necessary changes.

NEST Application Form once submitted cannot be changed in any case. A summary page is generated after submitting the form. Preserve it as it is also to be sent along with DD for the payment of fees, in case the aspirant has selected the offline method to make the payment of NEST 2019 Application Fees.

All the details mentioned above are compulsory without which the student will not be able to submit the application form. Apart from this, they need to scan all the education concerned documents along with the passport size photograph and signature and upload it there.

NEST Application Form 2019 Correction

  • If there is any update regarding the correction with the application form, it would be released officially by NEST on its official website.
  • Students appearing for NEST 2019examination must fill the application form correctly in one go.
  • The reason students must fill all the accurate details is that there is no correction facility offered by the organizing authority for an application form.
  • If any information filled by the student is established inaccurate or invalid, it would be considered as the serious offense by the exam organizing authority and they have all the rights to null and void that submitted the application form.
