MICAT 2018 Question Paper, Response Key, Paper Analysis and Cut off

MICA Admission Test is organized for the students who seek to get admission in PG Diploma in Management Communications. Check MICAT Cut off Within a week after the completion of the examination, the response key will also be announced on the official website of the board in the month of June 2018. MICAT exam is held once in a year in the month of June.

- Questions of General Awareness section is primarily on media, advertising, marketing, films, general and social issues and general global awareness.
- Questions on data sufficiency, statement, and conclusion and visual reasoning were on the easy lines. Check MICAT Paper Analysis
- The first three questions were based on the topic: ‘Expert Opinion' is critical to Geo-Political developments.
Psychometric Test
- The third set of questions one had to rank different answers under given circumstances on a scale of 1 to 6 where 1 implies highest priority and 6 imply the least priority.
- There were 3 types of questions. The first set had a set of 30 statements out of which the aspirants had to pick 10 statements best describing their individuality.
- In the second set of questions, aspirants had to choose from a set of 2 arguments and rate them according to their individuality.
MICAT Response Key 2018
With the help of the response key, students can cross-check their responses and will be able to calculate their scores based on the number of accurate and inaccurate responses. The response key will be available in online method only. By calculating the scores, students can estimate or analyze their performance. Some of the coaching institutes also announce the response key along with the question paper.
Students can calculate the marks by following the MICAT marking scheme which is as below:
- For every inaccurate response, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks
- For every accurate response, 1 mark will be honored

- Visit the official website of “Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmadabad” (MICA) i.e. www.mica.ac.in
- Students can download the desired set of response key from any of the booklet i.e. A, B, C, and D.
- The response key will be established in the PDF pattern which students can download and save for future references

Paper Analysis for MICAT 2018
With the help of the paper analysis, students will come to know that what type of questions will come in the exam, examination difficulty level, distribution of marks and much more. Following is the detailed explanation of section-wise exam analysis:
Section 1: Descriptive Test
- The response of the third question must be of 300 words which will be in favor or against the given topic
- This test consists of a total of four questions out of which for first two questions students have to write three points for and against a particular topic.
- The first three questions will be based on expert opinion and on Geo-Political Development.
- The fourth question consists of four pictures in which aspirants had to write down a pictorial combination and explain with a story
Section 2: Psychometric Test
This test is included of 37 questions. In the first set of questions, there were three options for each question and students have to select only one response. It is mandatory for the students to attempt all the questions because there is no negative marking.
In the second set of questions, students have to choose one from a set of two arguments. In the last and final set of questions, students have to rank the statement on a scale of 1 to 6.
Section 3: Reasoning, General Awareness, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Analysis
1. Reasoning
This section consists of 30 questions of moderate to difficult level. The following table shows the clear topic-wise break up of this section: In this section, there is a negative marking for inaccurate responses.

2. General Awareness
This section is moderate to difficult. Questions in this section were based on business taglines, mergers and acquisitions, corporate heads, and brand and marketing campaigns etc. The break-down of this section is shown in the following table:

3. Verbal Ability
Questions in this section were asked from Phrase Replacements, Jumbles Paragraphs, Synonyms, Double Blanks and a Reading Comprehension Passage. Rest of the questions were easy to moderate. The reading comprehension question was of moderate difficulty level.

4. Quantitative Analysis
This section contains mostly Arithmetic and modern Mathematics questions. The topics are shown in the given table: There were two sets from Data Interpretation section with 3 questions.

MICAT 2018 Cut off
Cut off marks are the at least marks scored by the aspirant in order to get admission in the college/ institute. Participants scoring marks less than the cut off will not be shortlisted for the further selection rounds. The institute does not announce any cut off for admission to PGDM programme.
