MAH MCA CET (Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test) Result 2018

MAH MCA CET 2018 Result will be declared online in the 4th week of March 2018 by the organizing authority. Response Key for different sets is announced on the official website, 2 days after the exam.

Aspirants who have qualified in MAH MCA CET 2018, have to pay the requisite counseling fee and fill up the counseling application form. Merit list prepared will be prepared on the basis of Maharashtra seats, other state seats and J & K seats.

How to Check MAH MCA CET Result 2018?

MAH MCA CET 2018 Result can be checked on the official website- MAH MCA CET Results can be checked and downloaded by the following steps.

  1. Visit the official website.
  2. Find and click on ‘MAH MCA 2018 Results’ available on the home page.
  3. At the Login Portal page, enter the Registration number and Date of Birth.
  4. Click on ’Submit’.  

MAH MCA CET 2018 Result will be displayed. This must be saved and printed for future reference.

Details on Scorecard

MAH MCA CET 2018 Result will contain All India Rank and Category wise rank obtained by aspirants. Scorecard contains the performance details of aspirants.

  • Total marks scored out of 200
  • Marks secured by aspirants in each section/subject of the entrance exam
  • Score Card indicates two ranks: All India Rank and Category wise Rank
  • Marks displayed on the scorecard are the marks obtained by aspirants after adjusting the negative marks.

Within 2 weeks of online results declaration, MAH MCA CET 2018 Scorecard is dispatched to the correspondence address offered by aspirants at the time of applying. The validity of scorecard is 1 year. In case of loss of this scorecard, a duplicate score card will be alloted for a fee of INR 200.

Merit List of MAH MCA CET 2018

Aspirants can check their estimated score with the help of MAH MCA CET 2018 Response Key which will be announced on the official website 2 days after the date of the entrance test. The response key is displayed in the PDF pattern. Aspirants can check the same to get a rough idea of their performance.

Taking the marks obtained by candidates in MAH MCA CET into consideration, a merit list is prepared which places the aspirants in the order of merit. Admission into the participating institutes is based on the merit list. There are two merit lists prepared by the organizing authority.

  1. Provisional Merit List: The provisional merit list is usually declared as soon the MAH MCA CET 2018 counselling ends.
  2. Final Merit List: After cautiously considering the results of the MAH MCA CET counseling, the final merit list is prepared. Aspirants current in this final merit list are shortlisted for admissions.

The provisional merit list will be made on the following basis:

  • Maharashtra state seats: Aspirants scoring non-zero and non-negative marks would be assigned a first-year general level state merit list number. Second-year state-level general merit list number for aspirants applicable for admission in Second-year of MCA course (lateral entry) as well as corresponding Home university area merit number, category merit number etc.
  • Jammu and Kashmir Migrant seats: Each Jammu and Kashmir Migrant aspirant scoring non-zero and non-negative marks would be assigned state level J&K merit list number.
  • Other Maharashtra seats (OMS): Aspirants who are applying from other states (non-Maharashtra domicile) and scoring non-zero and non-negative or having AIMCET 2018 equivalent score would be assigned OMS Merit number.

Normalization of Scores 

MAH CET MCA 2018 Merit List is based on the scores obtained by aspirants. The process for deriving the scores for the merit list is shown below.

  • Finally, the Equated score is indicated up to two digits after decimal point.
  • After deducting 1 negative mark per the wrong answer, marks honoured to every right answer are used to calculate the Corrected MAH MCA CET score.
  • MAH MCA CET is organizeed in various sessions and there are some variations in the difficulty levels. To account for this, the Corrected score is equated to the base form by considering all the necessary factors.

Tie Breaking Procedure

While preparing the merit list, if two or more aspirants are established to have obtained the same score/percentile, the following tie-breaking criteria is implemented until the tie is resolved. The order of priority is:

  • Age of Aspirants is considered. An Older aspirant is ranked higher.
  • Aspirants with a better percentage of marks in the 12th grade are ranked higher.
  • Aspirants with a better percentage of marks in the 10th grade are ranked higher.  
  • Percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination is considered an aspirant with a higher percentage is ranked higher.

    Counseling Procedure for MAH MCA CET 2018

    Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra organizes MAH MCA CET counseling via Centralized Allocation Procedure (CAP).

    There are three rounds current in CAP. While the first two rounds of CAP are open to aspirants from Maharashtra State and aspirants from Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), the third round of CAP is done only for the Maharashtra state aspirants.

    Based on the merit list, aspirants who have been shortlisted must fill the necessary online counseling application form and pay the requisite counseling fee.

    First Round Counseling

    After Logging in to the official web portal, aspirants can fill the counseling application form along with filling up of the choices. Aspirants, who are allotted seats after the 1st round of CAP, must report to the allotted institute to confirm admission if they are satisfied with the result. If aspirants are not content with the allotted seat, they can wait for the following rounds of counseling.

    Candidates must be careful while locking their choices. If a seat from the first 7 choices locked is allotted, aspirants will not have the option of participating in the next round of counseling.

    Second Round Counseling

    Aspirants who have not been allotted their preferred seat and those who are not satisfied with the allotted seat are applicable for the 2nd round of counseling. At the conclusion of the second round of counseling, aspirants must report at the institute allotted to them and clear all the necessary processes to confirm admission.

    Third Round Counseling

    Seats, of any discipline or category, which remain unfilled after the first 2 rounds of counseling, shall be made available for the 3rd round of CAP. These seats shall be considered as general category seats. This round of counseling is organizeed offline and is open only to aspirants from Maharashtra state.

    After successful allocation of seats, aspirants must confirm admission by reporting to the allotted institute on the scheduled day.
