JEE Main 2018 Rank List is prepared on the basis of actual scores of aspirants obtained in JEE Main exam. The rank list of JEE Main 2018 will reflect the All India Ranks (AIR) and Category Ranks (CR) secured by the aspirants in JEE Main

The AIR will be released with JEE Main Result for admission to BE/BTech programs in the participating colleges. The Category Rank will be released just for the purpose of information. The ranks will be announced in the form of scorecard, at the time of result.

How to Check JEE Main Rank List 2018?

The steps to check JEE Main rank are same as of downloading the scorecard. The steps are:

  • Enter JEE Main roll number and Date of Birth
  • Submit the details, Rank List will appear
  • Download it for future correspondence
  • Click on the link (available at the time of result on the official website)

JEE Main Rank List 2018: Points to remember

  • JEE Main Rank List will be available in online method only. No aspirant will be sent the hard copy of the Rank List.
  • The inclusion of Class XII marks for normalization has been scrapped from the year 2017.
  • For preparing the rank list of JEE Main 2018, Class XII marks will not be considered for normalization. 

JEE Main Rank List 2018: Inter-Se-Merit

In case of two or more aspirants securing the same scores, the following inter-se-merit rules will be used to issue ranks to aspirants:

For admission to B.E. / B.Tech

  • Aspirant securing higher marks in Mathematics will be given better rank.
  • In case, the tie is still prevalent, the ratio of positive and negative marks obtained by the aspirant in JEE Main will be taken into consideration. Aspirant with higher absolute value of the ratio will be assigned higher rank
  • If the tie still exists, the aspirant obtaining higher marks in Physics will be given higher rank.
  • After all, if the tie does not break, aspirants will be given the same rank

For admission to B.Arch. /B.Planning

  • In case, the tie still exists, then the ratio of positive and negative marks will be used. Aspirants with higher absolute value of the ratio will be honored better rank
  • An aspirant with higher marks in Aptitude Test will be honored better rank.
  • Even after this, if the resolution is not possible, then finally such aspirants will be given the same rank.
  • If the tie further exists, then the aspirant having higher marks in Drawing Test will be given better rank

Cut Off from JEE Main 2018 Rank List

JEE Main 2018 cut-off will be published along with the results. The cutoff marks are the least possible marks which are mandatory to score by the candidate in the JEE Main Paper to qualify for the counseling procedure.

Cut off will depend on a lot of factors such as:

  • the last year cut-off as well
  • Difficulty Level of the exam,
  • Marking trend, 
  • Annual intake, 

States Accepting JEE Main Rank List

The previous admission in following states was based on their state level examination. But with the announce of the JEE 2018 admission notification, JAB stated that the following states have joined JEE Main system. Read More

JEE Main Rank List 2018: Counseling

Counseling and seat allocation procedure of JEE Main will commence tentatively in the second week of June 2018 and will be organized by JoSAA. Aspirants whose name will be in JEE Main 2018 Rank List will be applicable to participate in the counseling session. 

Aspirants will be invited for JEE Main 2018 counseling on the basis of their ranks in the JEE Main rank list. The participants will need to register themselves online and select their preferred college and course. 

Issuement of seats will be done online based on the participant’s rank in the Rank list and availability of seats. JoSAA will be organizing counseling and seat allocation procedure tentatively in 6 rounds.
