GATE 2019 or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level entrance exam for admission to postgraduate courses in the field of engineering and technology. It is scheduled for February 2019.
Via GATE score, aspirants can get admission into M. / Ph.D. programs in IIT, IIS, IISER and other reputed institutes.Every year, GATE is conducted on the rotational basis by the seven zonal IITs and an IISc. Tech.

Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2019
As per GATE 2019 eligibility criteria, aspirants required to have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in a relevant branch. Aspirants from Science, Mathematics or Statistics can also apply.

GATE Registration 2019
GATE registration 2019 will tentatively commence on September 1, 2018. Participants have to fill GATE 2019 application form via GATE Online Application Procedures System (GOAPS). All the aspirants have to apply online only.
The registration window will open until October 5, 2018. Application Procedure for international aspirants is same as Indians. International aspirants must possess a valid passport to apply for GATE 2019.
Aspirants need to follow 3 steps primarily to register online for GATE 2018.
- The next step before final submission of GATE Online Application Form is fee payment.
- Register and create an aspirant’s login on the website of GOAPS. Offer your email-ID, phone number and create a password to register.
- After this, fill GATE Application Form and upload the scanned images of Photograph and Signature in JPEG pattern.
The application fee for female, SC/ST aspirants is INR 750 while it is INR 1500 for other aspirants. The application fee can be paid in either online or offline mode.
How to fill GATE Application Form 2019?
Aspirants need to follow the steps mentioned below to fill GATE 2018 Online Application form.
- Fee payment- After this, aspirants need to make payment by net banking, debit card and credit card. After paying GATE application fees, a fee payment number is generated which aspirants can note for the later stages of the GATE Selection procedure.
- Filling GATE 2019 Application Form- Enter your individual and educational details in the application form for GATE. Preview the form to verify the information entered and modify the same immediately to avoid any discrepancies. Applications cannot be modified post final submission.
- Registration- Visit the official website of GOAPS. Enter few individual details, a valid e-mail ID and mobile number. Create a password which will be used to login later.
GATE 2019 Application Form Status
There is a provision for aspirants to check their form status i.e. whether the authority has received the form or not. It also notifies the aspirants if their application form requires any correction or not.
Visit GOAPS to check the status of GATE Online Application. The status will be displayed from one of the below mentioned categories:

GATE Hall Ticket 2019
Aspirants are advised to download their GATE 2019 hall tickets from the official website of GATE 2019 exam. They have to enter their login ID and password to get the hall ticket.
The authority doesn’t send any call letters to aspirants via post or any other physical means. GATE hall ticket will be made available to download in the month of January.
Steps to download GATE 2019 hall ticket:
- Save it on your system.
- Once in, find the hall ticket link and click on it.
- Log In using your enrolment ID and Password.
- Your Admit card will be produced and displayed on your computer screen.
- Go to the official website of the exam.
- Click on the ‘Log In’ button.
- Take its print out on an A4 size sheet. Several copies can be saved for future reference.
Aspirants are advised to take this print out with them on the day of the examination to get entry into the center.

Exam Format for GATE 2019
GATE 2019 is an online exam for maximum 100 marks. A total of 65 questions are asked. Aspirants can apply for one stream of all the 23 papers for which GATE is organized.

- Likewise, for questions carrying 2 marks, 2/3 marks will be deducted. No negative marking for Numerical Response Type questions.
- For MCQ, 4 choices will be offered while there will be no options offered for NAT.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) & Numerical Response Type Questions (NAT) are asked in GATE examination.
- In the paper of XE, the new section (H) namely Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences has been comprised from the year 2018.
- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for the questions carrying 1 mark.
- MCQ and NAT questions will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers.

Response Key for GATE 2019
GATE 2019 Response Key for all the papers will be published on the official website soon after the exam is organized. There will be separate question paper and response key sets for all the separate sessions. The response keys can be viewed by logging in using Registration details.
Aspirants can also challenge any response in case the accurate answer is not mentioned on the key. The aspirant can challenge the response key by paying a nominal fee.
GATE Result 2019
GATE Result 2019 is expected to be declared in March 2019. The results are published on the official GATE website.
- The list is made on the basis of the scores obtained by the aspirants.
- Cut off is released for various streams.
- Aspirants can check their result by signing into the website using their ID and password.
They have to ensure their admission by paying the admission fee.
Counseling Procedure of GATE 2019
There is no common counseling held for admission to postgraduate programs. After the releasement of GATE Result, all the participating institutes begin admission rounds on the basis of GATE Scores.
For admission in NITs, IIITs and several Centrally funded institutions like IIIT Allahabad, IIITM Gwalior, IIITDM Kancheepuram, GATE 2019 Counseling will be done via CCMT (Centralized Counseling for M.Tech/M.Arch) as usual.
CCMT is an online admission program for getting into NITs and Central Funded Technical Institutes such as IIITM Gwalior, NIFFT Ranchi etc.
After the declaration of GATE 2019 result, state universities and other private institutes will organize GATE counseling for admission to M.Tech. program personally.
GATE 2019 PSU Appointment
Different known PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) appoint applicable and qualified aspirants for various posts. Aspirants are provided high compensation packages and other benefits (medical benefits and other aids). have recently announced notifications for PSU Appointment via GATE. CEL, MDL, GAIL, BHEL, Cabinet Secretariat etc.
Aspirants have to apply separately for the posts provided by different institutes. The application forms for various PSUs are announced on various dates and aspirants have to submit the application form within the stipulated time to be appointed by the PSU.
