CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) Result 2018

NUALS Kochi will release the results of Common Law Admission Test on May 31, 2018. With CLAT Result, All India Rank (AIR) and category-wise merit list are also published online at The law entrance examination is scheduled for May 13.

Listed below are important points about CLAT Results:

  • Enter Registered ID and Password offered at the time of registration to view the scores.
  • AIR is determined on the basis of marks secured in the merit list.
  • After seat is allotted, pay the counseling fee and submit options to either lock or opt for upward shifting. Know about CLAT Counseling 
  • An overall merit list will be prepared according to the category of an aspirant.
  • The results are prepared as per the final response keys announced by NUALS Kochi. 
  • Post declaration of results, seat allocation list on the basis of merit and preference is announced on CLAT website.
Note CLAT Scores are only valid for the academic session 2018-19.

Results for the law examination can be checked through online method only by visiting the official website of Common Law Admission Test. Tabulated below are all the dates concerned to results procedure.

How to Check CLAT 2018 Result?

The results are prepared after thoroughly evaluating the final responses. The rank list is published category wise for Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programs. To check the results follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit CLAT Official website i.e.

Step 2: On the top right click on ‘CLAT Result’.

Step 3: Enter registered ID and Password. Click Submit.

Step 4: View your CLAT Score Card and result

Step 5: Save and download the Score Card for future procedures.

Note The scorecard of CLAT is a compulsory document that is needed at the time of counselling for final admissions.

Details mentioned in CLAT Scorecard

  • Father’s Name – name of the CLAT test taker’s father
  • All India Rank (AIR) – Rank scored or allotted at All India Merit List i.e. All India Level. 
  • Roll Number – The digits or number code allotted to the CLAT candidate and the same code is written on hall ticket.
  • Aspirant’s Name – It is the name of the test taker
  • NRI Rank – Aspirants who applied under NRI Quota will have their rank mentioned under this head in the scorecard. 
  • Category Rank (CR) – Rank allotted categorically i.e. as mentioned in the category merit list. 
  • CLAT Score – The marks scored by the aspirant in CLAT 2018 
  • NRI Sponsored Rank – Aspirants who applied under NRI Sponsored Quota will have their rank mentioned under this head in CLAT scorecard.  
  • Aspirant’s Category – aspirant’s category will be printed as mentioned at the time of registration.  
  • Application Number – the application number which was filled by the aspirant at the time of registration for Common Law Admission Test

CLAT Merit List

CLAT merit list will be published in PDF pattern by the CLAT Committee and NUALS Kochi. It will have names of test takers according to the marks/ ranks secured by them in the law entrance examination.

The merit list will indicate the following details/ statistics:

  • The total number of aspirants appearing in the exam.
  • Performance of a person with the state rank.
  • Standards on which aspirants will be selected.

What does CLAT Merit List mention?

Listed below are the details mentioned in the merit list:

  • Roll Number: It is the roll number allotted to the aspirant
  • DOB: It is the date of birth of aspirant appearing for the examination
  • Merit Number: Number obtained by the aspirant in the Merit List
  • AIR (All India Rank): It is the rank secured nu aspirant at the national level.
  • Score: Marks scored by aspirant
  • Aspirant’s Name: name of the test taker
  • State Rank: It is the rank secured at the state level.
  • Legal Aptitude Score: It is the marks secured in Legal Aptitude section of law entrance exam.

Tie Breaking Rules of CLAT 

There might be a situation where two or more aspirants secure equal marks. To break the tie, following process and order will be followed by CLAT committee:

CLAT 2018 Tie-Breaking for UG:

  • Higher Marks in component/ section on legal aptitude in CLAt 2018
  • A computerised draw of lots.
  • Higher Age

What after CLAT Results 2018?

After the declaration of results, aspirants required to take part in CLAT Centralised Counseling Process organizeed by CLAT authorities. Via this procedure, aspirants are granted admissions in Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses provideed at Institutes/ Colleges accepting CLAT Scores.

The seat allocation is done on a merit-cum-preference basis. This means that the admissions are done on the basis of CLAT 2018 score/rank along with the college preference mentioned by the aspirant in their application form.
