CAT Cutoff & Admission Criteria 2018 for LIBA

Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai has released the application process for its flagship PGDM program for session 2018-20. LIBA Application Form 2018 is available until January 31.

Aspirants ready to pursue PGDM from LIBA must complete CAT Cut off 2017. They are further called for group discussion and individual interview rounds for the final selection.

Here are all the important details for LIBA Admission 2018:

  • Other than the complete CAT, aspirants must hold a Bachelorโ€™s degree with 60% marks or be in the final year of graduation in 2018.
  • Students required to score equivalent or higher than CAT Cut-off set by LIBA, Chennai. The expected percentile is 80+.
  • To apply, the online application form is available at LIBA Official Website. The application fee is INR 1500 which has to pay via credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking.
  • There are a total of 120 seats in PGDM programme.
  • LIBA provides six specializations in PDGM program including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Systems and Business Analytics.

XAT 2018 is also accepted if you are applying for this course.

How to Apply at LIBA Chennai?

Aspirants want admission in LIBA Chennai can apply for the PDGM 2018 only via their online application portal. No offline mode is available. Students have to submit their individual and academic details in the application form.

  3. Enter your academic details and upload the support documents
  4. Enter your work experience details (if any) and upload the support documents and offer some reference information
  5. Confirm all the details and submit the application form.
  6. Make an online payment of INR 1500/- via Credit Card / Debit Card/ Net banking.

Selection Criteria 2018 for LIBA Chennai

LIBA Chennai has a two-step admission procedure wherein personals must qualify each round to advance to the next. The steps involved in securing a seat in LIBA PGDM program are as follows:

  • The final merit list will be based on CAT 2017 score, Academic Profile, and performance in GD & PI round. Check CAT Result
  • Shortlisted students will be participating in subsequent rounds- GD & PI procedure
  • Clearing CAT Cutoff (expected to be 80+ for general) or XAT 2018 cutoff

CAT 2017

For the purpose of shortlisting participants for PI and other rounds, various weights are assigned to the scores of various sections of CAT. LIBA, Chennai will compute a composite score based on only CAT 2017 scores which will be used for selecting candidates for the PI round. The weight given to various sections of CAT is given below: This will be done to encourage Gender and Academic Diversity.


LIBA gives weight to academic profile as well. Also, aspirants with a history of more than two backlogs must not apply. So, the aspirants should have a consistent academic record of at least 60% marks in class X, XII & Graduation.

GD and PI rounds

Aspirants who complete the CAT or XAT cut off as laid down by the institute are called for GD and PI rounds. These two components have a weight in the final composite score. All these rounds will be conducted by LIBA at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai. Participants must attend these rounds as per the schedule released by the institute.

  • In the Individual Interview round, students will be interviewed by a panel of judges to evaluate their academic profile, quality of work and individual characteristics.
  • In the Group Discussion round, aspirants will be divided into groups and will have to discuss the given topic. This round will test their creative thinking ability and socio-political awareness, along with speaking skills.

Final Merit List 2018 for LIBA Chennai

  • LIBA Chennai will create a final merit list based on the performance of personals in CAT 2017 and other qualifying rounds organized by them.

LIBA Chennai Seat Intake

A total of 120 seats are available at LIBA Chennai for its full-time PGDM program. LIBA is a minority institution, so, 50% of the seats are reserved for minority aspirants. There is no reservation for SC/ST or NRI aspirants. The seats available for each category are as follows:
