Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) has invited applications from applicable aspirants for the position of Law Officer at the E1 level. There are only 12 vacancies for this opening. CLAT is a national level law entrance examination organized every year by the National Law University on a rotational basis. This year the examination is scheduled for May 13 by NUALS Kochi.
The competition gets tough every year. Over 50,000 aspirants appeared in CLAT 2017 exam for just 2,984 seats. This makes the selection ratio even below 0.06. The aspirants completing the CLAT exam are provided admissions to the BA LLB and LLM courses at the 19 NLUs and other law universities accepting CLAT Scores in India.

BHEL Appointment 2018: CLAT LLM Exam Format
The paper format for CLAT 2018 LLM is defined by the coordinating body. A brief about the same is as follows:
- Period of Exam: two hours (120 minutes)
- Method of Examination: Computer Based Test
- No. of Questions: 150 questions (50 questions each per section)
- No. of Sections: Three sections namely Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and other law-concerned topics.
- Marking Scheme: + 1 mark for each accurate response and - 0.25 mark for a wrong response.
- The medium of Responses: English only

BHEL Appointment 2018: Eligibility and Requirements
- This age limit will be relaxed by 5 years for the SC and ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for General PwD, 13 years for OBC PwD, 15 years for SC/ST PwD category aspirants, and 5 years for the aspirants domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir from January 01, 1980 to December 31, 1989.
- There is no age limit criterion for appearing in the CLAT Post Graduate 2018 exam.
- Additionally, the age relaxation for ex-servicemen will be as per the government rules.
- However, they will be required to prove their marks in the qualifying degree at a later stage.
- However, to register for the Law Officer position at BHEL, the age of aspirants must not exceed 30 years as on March 01, 2018.
- Aspirants appearing in the qualifying exam in 2018 are also applicable to apply.
- For appearing in CLAT 2018 PG, Law graduates or five-year integrated LLB (Hons.) or any other equivalent degree with an at least of 55% (SC and ST it is 50%).
Note(s):
- LLB or BL degree holders from distance learning or part-time course are not applicable to apply for the Law Officer position at BHEL.

How to Apply for BHEL Post?
To apply for the Legal Officer position at BHEL, register for CLAT Post Graduate 2018 in the online mode. Visit the official website i.e. www.clat.ac.in and follow the simple steps below for registering at BHEL:
- Reach the official website of BHEL Careers portal - https://careers.bhel.in.
- Click the Present Openings - Law Officers – Apply Online link.
- Fill all the need particulars cautiously, review the filled information, and click Submit.
- Print the acknowledgment screen displaying the acknowledgment number.
- Login to the BHEL Careers portal using the acknowledgment number as username, and date of birth as a password.
- Upload the scanned copies of the photograph, signature, degree certificates, and category certificates in the prescribed pattern (JPEG or PDF).
- Pay the registration fee. Note that the reserved category aspirants are exempted from the registration fee and should skip this step.
BHEL Appointment 2018: Vacancies and Pay Scale
Out of the 12 vacancies of Law Officers at BHEL
- OBC - 3 seats
- Unreserved - 8 seats
- SC - 1 seat
Note: Once selected, aspirants will be posted at one of the Bangalore, Bhopal, Haridwar, Ranipet, Jhansi, Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Chennai, Nagpur locations.
The pay scale of Law Officers will be INR 24900 – 50500. Other than that, the Industrial Dearness Allowance of 126.9% of Basic Pay, other perks, and allowances of up to 46% of the Basic Pay will be paid to the employee.
Note: All these pay components and allowances are liable for revision from January 01, 2017. Apart from these, employees will also get benefits like leave, provident fund, medical coverage for self and dependents, gratuity, subsidized canteen facilities, accommodation/HRA, and more.
Admission Process for BHEL Appointment 2018
CLAT Post Graduate qualifiers and the ones who have registered for the BHEL’s Law Officer position will be shortlisted by the selection committee based on their CLAT Post Graduate scores. They will be called for the interview round in order of merit in the ratio of 1:10 to the number of vacancies in each category.
The final merit list for the BHEL position will be developed considering 75% weight of the CLAT Post Graduate 2018 exam, and 25% weight of interview. The shortlisted aspirants will be provided the recruitment letter that will contain the training and posting details.
