AP LAWCET 2018 Notification Published, Exam on April 19

The notification of AP LAWCET 2018 will be announced shortly by Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapur on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Aspirants want admissions within 3 years, 5-year Integrated LL.B and LL.M programs provided in AP Universities and their affiliated colleges can apply online for the exam.

The registration window will become functional in February 2018 till March 2018. To appear for the state level law entrance examination, an at least of 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Graduate level is a must.  Check AP LAWCET Eligibility

AP LAWCET Exam Dates 2018

The application forms will be announced online at www.sche.ap.gov.in/lawcet. The organizing body will announce the notification in the last week of January 2018. Tabulated below is a tentative schedule for AP LAWCET 2018:

AP LAWCET 2018 Exam Format

The exam format for the law exam is various for all the programs. Highlights for the AP LAWCET exam format are listed below:

  • Sections in Exam – there are three sections in the exam namely General Knowledge & Mental Ability, Present Events and Aptitude for Legal Studies.
  • The medium of Exam – The medium of instructions in the exam will be English and Telugu.
  • Method of Examination – Computer Based Test i.e. Online method examination. Aspirants will be issued a system after the biometric verification.
  • Period of Exam – The state level examination will be of 90 minutes. PwD or SAP aspirants will be offered with a compensatory time of 20 minutes for each section.
  • Type of Questions – Objective Type i.e. Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will have four choices, select one option which you think is accurate.
  • Marking Scheme in AP LAWCET 2018 – Each question in the online examination will carry 1 mark. Also, there is no provision of negative marking for wrong or non-attempted responses.

Note: Qualifying marks is an at least of 35% in the exam. Aspirants have to score minimum 42 marks out of the total score of 120. For SC/ ST category, it is not eligible i.e. they will not obligatory any at least qualifying marks for AP LAWCET 2018.

AP LAWCET 2018 Procedure

Like any other law exam, the process to appear and get admission through LAWCET is also similar. A brief about the procedure is given below:

Step 1: Fill AP LAWCET Application Form

Before applying for the exam, it is important to go via the eligibility criteria. Aspirants satisfying the same can then fill in AP LAWCET Application Form online. It will be available on the official website of APSCHE.

To reach the form, a requisite fee as per the program selected obligatory to be paid. Application Fee is tabulated below:

Aspirants can pay the fee at AP Online Centres and also via payment Gateway/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. Following details obligatory to be mentioned: After making the payment successfully, aspirants can fill in the form.

  • Select the AP LAWCET exam center
  • Active Email ID,
  • Parent’s name,
  • Active mobile number,
  • Aspirant’s Name,
  • Uploading of digital signature and passport size colors photograph
  • Community details (minority/non-minority),

Step 2: Download AP LAWCET Hall Ticket

Successfully registered aspirants will be allotted the admit card in March 2018. It will be available online. Make note that no separate hall ticket or communication will be sent to them through the post.

Step 3: Appearing for AP LAWCET 2018

The state level examination will be of one and half hour period. Make sure to report at the center minimum 30 minutes before the exam commences. Via this exam, aspirants are evaluated on the basis of their knowledge in areas such as General Knowledge, Mental ability, Present Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law.

Step 4: Checking AP LAWCET Result

After the exam concludes, the results will be announced by the competent authority in June 2018. Aspirants will be situated a rank in AP LAWCET exam on the basis of their merit and marks obtained in the exam.
