AIIMS PG Exam Pattern 2018
All India Institutes of Medicals Science-PG Exam (AIIMS PG) is organizeed by AIIMS, New Delhi. There will be approximately 162 number of seats with the subject wise division in each of the institutes.
- AIIMS exam for postgraduate courses will include of objective questions based multiple choice questions.
- AIIMS Post Graduate 2018 is a computer-based test which will be organizeed online.
- AIIMS Post Graduate question paper will include questions from the syllabus of MMBS programmes.
- For MDS participants, the exam period will be 1.5 hours.
- For MS/MD participants, the exam period will be 3 hours.
- The evaluation will involve negative marking scheme wherein 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for every inaccurate response.
Participants must possess MBBS degree for MS/MD courses and BDS degree for MDS courses. AIIMS PG is an all India level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses such as
- MS (Master of Surgery)
- DM (Doctorate of Medicine – 6 years)
- MD (Doctor of Medicine)
- M. Ch. (Master of Chirurgiae - 6 years)
- MDS (Master of Dental Surgery)
Exam Format Highlights Table of AIIMS Post Graduate 2018
AIIMS Post Graduate 2018 will be organizeed in online mode. AIIMS Post Graduate 2018 Exam will be organizeed in the first week of May 2018. AIIMS Post Graduate 2018 Result will be declared within a week of the date of examination on the official website www.aiimsexams.org.
All the candidates must study the exam format in detail before preparing for the examination.

Exam Format in Detail of AIIMS Post Graduate 2018
AIIMS administers AIIMS Post Graduate Exam and there will be a single question paper consisting of multiple-choice questions based on the syllabus of MBBS programmes.
The objective questions will be based on the syllabus of M.B.B.S and BDS programmes for MS/MD and MDS respectively.
- Duration: Exam period for MS/MD will be 3 hours and for MDS will be 90 minutes.
- Total number of questions: For MS/MD: 200 objective questions. For MDS: 90 objective questions.
- Subjects or Syllabus: The objective questions for MS/MD will be comprised of the subjects taught at M.B.B.S level. The objective questions for MDS will be comprised of the subjects taught at BDS level.
Marking Scheme of AIIMS Post Graduate 2018
The organizing body AIIMS will employ negative marking for evaluation. 1/3rd marks will be deducted for an inaccurate response from the total.
- No marks will be allotted or deducted for unresponsive questions.
- The marking scheme involves negative marking where every accurate response will add one mark and inaccurate response will deduct 1/3rd marks from the total.
- For multiple-choice questions, out of four aspirants should mark only one option as the response.

Important Instructions of AIIMS 2018
The method of examination is an online i.e. computer-based test. AIIMS Post Graduate candidates should take a few mock tests as experience. Here are a few guidelines the candidates should follow:
- Unresponsive questions will not affect the total marks
- All questions will carry equal marks.
- Admit card should be carried along with a photo identity proof.
- Negative marking scheme will be employed for evaluating the responses. Participants should only response the question if they are sure about it.
- There will be only one accurate response to each question from the given four options.
- The period of the exam is 3 hours for MS/MD and 1.5 hours for MDS
- One mark will be allotted for each accurate response while 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each inaccurate response.
- Participants need to sign the attendance sheet.
- The test will begin exactly at the time mentioned on the hall ticket. A prior releasement will be made by the examiner.
