AIIMS MBBS Result 2018 Download Score Card

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Result has been declared on the official website. Once the AIIMS Result is out, aspirants can proceed to the AIIMS MBBS Counseling process. Aspirants can check their roll numbers in the list offered. The competent authority has announced a rank list of aspirants on the official website. There, they will be allotted in accordance to their AIIMS MBBS Rank.

The AIIMS Result, Rank List, and Merit List can be downloaded from the official website of AIIMS i.e. The result of the AIIMS MBBS 2018 will be based the percentile scores of total raw scores. Aspirants must note that requests for re-evaluation/ re-checking will not be entertained.

AIIMS MBBS 2018 How to check the Result?

The result will be declared on the official website AIIMS MBBS 2018 organizing body will display both rank wise and roll number wise results secured by the aspirants. The results will be put up in a PDF pattern that will have the aspirant’s name, rank and other details. The personal result can be downloaded by following these few easy steps: The results of only those aspirants who have qualified the exam will be displayed. The exam authority will not put up the results of unsuccessful aspirants.

  • Search for the option of Result of AIIMS 2018. Click on the link offered on the website.
  • Log on to the official website of AIIMS
  • At the top left corner, the aspirants will see an option to print out the result. Download the AIIMS MBBS 2018 Result and print it out for further process of admission.
  • After filling the details, click on the ‘Login’ button.
  • Aspirants will need to fill in their Aspirant ID, Password and a, security pin.
  • The result shall appear on the screen.
  • The aspirants will be redirected to the login page to reach the result.

Merit list for AIIMS MBBS 2018

A merit list will be published online by the AIIMS MBBS, New Delhi authority. There are four merit lists that are prepared are as follows: The Percentile scores for the Total Marks for both shifts as mentioned above would be merged and arranged so as to derive an overall Merit List / Ranking.

  1. Common Merit List: The common merit list is a list which incorporates aspirants from the general category and the other categories of SC/ST/OBC.  According to this list, the aspirants belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category, when selected in the same standard as applied to the general category aspirants, shall not be considered for the seats against reservations.
  2. Scheduled Caste Aspirant List: This merit list particularly comprises the aspirants according to their percentile score in the entrance exam belonging to the scheduled caste category.
  3. Scheduled Tribe Aspirant List: This merit list particularly comprises the aspirants according to their percentile score in the entrance exam belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category.
  4. Other Backward Classes Aspirant List: This merit list particularly comprises the aspirants according to their percentile score in the entrance exam belonging to the OBC category.

Tiebreaker for AIIMS MBBS 2018

In case of a tie (identical Total Percentile), the order of deciding higher rank/merit would be: Percentile in Biology, Percentile in Chemistry, Percentile in Physics, Percentile in General Knowledge, the elder by age. The overall ranking is based on the percentile scores of the total raw scores. The mode applied for breaking ties are:

  • Biology: Higher Percentile scores in Biology will result in higher ranking
  • Physics: If Biology and  Chemistry Percentiles do not break the tie, higher Percentile scores in Physics will result in higher ranking
  • Chemistry: If Biology Percentiles do not break the tie, higher Percentile scores in Chemistry will result in higher ranking
  • Age: If Biology, Chemistry, Physics Percentiles do not break the tie, the aspirant elder by age will be ranked higher.

Normalization of AIIMS MBBS 2018

The normalization of the scores is necessary because there will be two shifts of the entrance exam. The marks obtained by the aspirants are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0. The normalization of the score is needed for the determination of the merit or ranking to be used during the Counselling for the allocation of seats. The normalization process which is applied is based on percentiles, which is a score based on the relative performance of the all the aspirants appearing for the exam.

The percentile score indicates the percentage of aspirants who have scores equal to or below that particular percentile. The percentile score is calculated to 7 decimal places to avoid any kind of tie and bunching effect.

The result is prepared in three shifts, the Parameters are

  • Percentiles (up to 7 decimal places) separately for each of the four subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Knowledge) and the Total.
  • Raw score
  • Percentages

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Cut off

The cutoff score for AIIMS MBBS 2018 will be as decided by the governing body of AIIMS MBBS, New Delhi. There are different factors responsible for deciding the cut-off score. The cut-off is the at least score need by the aspirants to appear in the merit list and get short-listed for AIIMS counseling rounds of participating institutions. It comprises the number of aspirants that appear for the exam, difficulty level of exam question paper, marking scheme, the number of seats available in the institution category wise as also the cut-off marks for the earlier academic year.

The at least cut-off score need for the aspirant to qualify for the counselling session is given below:

Since the final score is delivered in terms of percentile score, the normalization of the score will be taken into consideration and then the scores according to the above criterion will be taken as the cut-off score.

Counseling Procedure of AIIMS MBBS 2018

AIIMS MBBS Counseling will be organized at AIIMS, New Delhi after the declaration of the result. The counseling procedure is set to start from the 1st week of July 2018. It is compulsory for candidates to attend the counseling at the allotted date and time. No request for authorized representative by the candidate will be accepted. If the aspirant is not current on the specified day, his candidature will be canceled. An open counseling session will be held if there are any vacant seats after all the three rounds. A call letter for qualified aspirants will be allocated by AIIMS MBBS which should be carried to the counseling. The 2nd and 3rd counseling session will be held in the 1st week of August and September 2018 respectively.

Documents to be carried for AIIMS 2018 Counseling

Certain documents should be carried for the counseling round to the center:

1.Admit card of AIIMS 2018
2.Call letter allocated by AIIMS, New Delhi
3.Proof of Date of Birth
4.10th and 12th Mark sheet and Passing Certificate
5.Migration certificate from the Institute last attended by aspirant
6.Caste or category certificate (allocated by Competent Authority)
7.6 recent, passport size photographs
8.One set of self-attested copies of all documents

Counseling Procedure of AIIMS MBBS 2018:

  • Seats will be allotted to candidates based on their ranks and order of preference.
  • Aspirants must be current in person for allotment of seats. Aspirants will select their choice of the institute when called for counseling as per their rank in the respective category. Choice once made will be final.
  • The seats to be filled up by open competition will be filled up first where aspirants will be called for counseling based on merit only irrespective of the category they belong to.
  • Next, the reserved category students will be called up for counseling to fill up the seats available in each institute in order of merit.
