The college was founded in the year 2002 and is affiliated to A.P.J. A well-developed infrastructure, excellent student-teacher ratio, community building and student support systems lists the college as student-centric. Abdul Kalam Technological University. The college aims at shaping careers of the students in the fields of Engineering and Technology with the help of highly qualified and experienced faculty. It is a self-financed catholic minority institution.
The specializations available for the course are Communication Engineering and Signal Procedures, Computer Science and Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Power Electronics, Structural Engineering and Construction Management and Thermal Engineering.
The number of seats available for every specialisation is 24.
The eligibility criteria for all the specialisations differ.
A Bachelors’ degree is a pre-requisite to apply for any of the specialisations.
Except for the specialization of Thermal Engineering, GATE scores are considered to get admitted to the specialisation of your choice.

After filling in the admission form and submitting documents, the course’s fees are to be paid.
A participant needs to apply online and disclose all the relevant information correctly. Information relating to the choice, of course, academic record, work experience if any, individual details etc are to be filled.
To take admission in the respective course, a student required to current for the Admission procedure with additional documents like Migration Certificate, Transfer Certificate, Caste Certificate if eligible and Passport size photos.
The applications are scrutinised and then a List of Students selected is disclosed on the website.
The application is then approved by the college authorities.

An application fee of INR 500 only is to be paid at the time of applying. The application fees can be paid straight at the college and attach the receipt of the application form or by drawing a DD of INR 500 in favour of Principal, Vimal Jyothi Engineering, Chemperi payable at Chemperi or a transfer of INR 500 to Bank Account can be done.
