Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SSAHE) provides Ph.D. and M.Sc. by Research programs as a part of the University courses.

It is provideed by the constituent colleges of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SSAHE) that comprise:

  • Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology
  • Sri Siddhartha Dental College
  • Sri Siddhartha Medical College

The Ph. D programme is provideed in four subjects while the M.Sc. by Research programme is provideed in Engineering stream.

The last date to fill the online application form for the registrations to the course.

The applications are filled out for the entrance examination via which admissions further take place.

Eligibility Criteria for SSU Tumkur Ph.D Admission 2018 - Medical, Dental and Engineering Research Programs


For Ph. D in Medical and Dental programs

  • aspirants with master’s degree in the related subject or a Post Graduate degree from any other recognised University.
  • The aspirants who have the following qualifications are applicable to enrol for Ph. D programs in this University, under the following faculties.

For the Medical Department:

  • If the aspirant is ready to apply for Pre-Clinical and Para-Clinical subjects, in addition to aspirants who have done M.D. or M.S. after MBBS degree, non-\medical aspirants with M.Sc., in Anatomy / Physiology / Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Pharmacology under Medical faculty as recognised by MCI can also apply.
  • Aspirants who have finished their M.Sc. in Human Genetics under Medical Faculty are also applicable to register for Ph. D course in Medical Genetics.
  • Aspirants with MD/MS, MRCP/FRCS or equivalent Master’s degree after honoured by a College/University recognised by MCI are applicable to apply for Ph.D courses in their subject of specialization.

For Dental Research Programs:

  • Aspirants with MDS degree honoured by a College/University recognised by DCI or a Post Graduate Dental degree considered as an equivalent by SSAHE are applicable for enrollment for Ph.D course in Dentistry of this University.

For the Engineering Research Programs

The Aspirant can register under any of the three categories mentioned below:

  1. Full-time registration: Aspirants who are ready to pursue their research on a full-time basis.
  2. Part Time Registrations: Aspirants who have been in-service. The aspirant will need to communicate and submit their thesis in English only.

 The aspirant applying to the engineering faculty should have a Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology from any recognised University.

Any aspirant who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering subject and working in National Laboratories, R&D Laboratories attached to Industries or such other Research Institutions or Industries can straight seek registration for Ph. D programs if he/she has published a work of outstanding merit or a work recognised for Patent rights.

Those Aspirants with Master of Computer Applications Degree are also applicable for registration under Computer Science Board.

If the aspirant wishes to pursue his/her research in General Science, he/she should be a faculty aspirant with an M.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and such other allied subjects shall also be applicable for registration. These aspirants should have passed Undergraduate or Postgraduate programs with the medium of instruction in English or should have qualified their TOFEL or ELTS examinations. It is compulsory that their degrees are from recognised Universities and they are either working in Colleges affiliated to SSU or they are ready to work under the guidance of the recognised faculty of colleges affiliated to SSU.

 An Aspirant should have obtained an at least of 60% or an equivalent grade in either Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree examinations. Either they are faculty members working in any of the Engineering College/Universities of India recognised by suitable government bodies, or those who have an Educational/ Industrial experience working in any Public/Private/Government sector organizations and wish to pursue their Research on a part-time basis.
  • Full Time/ Part Time (Special) NRI/FN/PIO: Aspirants who are under these mentioned groups shall be applicable for either full time or part-time basis. However, a relaxation to the extent of 10% shall be allowed for aspirants who belong to the SC/ST and any other category or aspirants with an at least of five years of experience of teaching or research.

    Majorly, the aspirant needs to complete the University Level Research Aptitude test whose results are valid for a duration of two years.

    The last date for the submission of the Ph. D and M.Sc. (Engg.) by Research application.

    The aspirants who are applying to the course should submit the application form along with the need documents with a Demand Draft of Rs. 2500/- that is drawn in favour of Registrar, SSHAE, payable at Tumkur. (Engg)

    • Principal/Head of Organization where the Aspirant registers for Ph.D/ MSc.

    Admission Procedure for SSU (Sri Siddhartha University), Tumkur Ph.D Admission 2018 - Medical, Dental and Engineering Research Programs


    • Every aspirant required to make a presentation of his/her Ph.D protocol along with/without his/her Guide before the Ph.D Registration Committee.
    • The committee then recommends the names of the selected aspirants to the Vice Chancellor for provisional registration within three months from the last date notified for the receipt of applications.
    • The selected aspirants, as well as the aspirants who have not been selected, shall be intimated by post separately by the University.
    • The University calls for Applications for registration in the months of January and July of every year.
    • The Ph.D. Registration Committee meets in the months of February and August of every year to consider applications of the aspirants for registration and the eligibility and recognition of the Guides.
    • All applications received by the Academy on or before the stipulated time and date are placed before the Ph.D Registration Committee of the respective faculty.
    • The Committee then examines the applications and if the applying aspirants meet eligibility requirements, then the university calls the aspirant to organize an interview.
