Karnataka State Women’s University (KSWU)also known as KSWU was founded in 2003 and it the first university exclusively for women in Karnataka recognised under the UGC Act. The University offers postgraduate (PG) and M.Phil./ Ph.D. courses in different branches of arts, commerce, science, technology, education etc.
KSWU provides M.Phil. programme in multiple branches and aspirants will be selected for admission to these programmes on the basis of their performance in the entrance test and the interview organized by the Karnataka examination authority.
Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility criteria can register themselves by obtaining the related application form and submitting it upon completion along with the prescribed fee.General aspirants must deposit an application fee of Rs. 480/- whereas for SC/ST aspirants, the fee is Rs. 240/- to register for admission to M.Phil. programme.

Teachers employed in colleges before March 31, 1992, and still in service or having FIP with minimum 50% marks in Master’s programme is applicable to apply for M.Phil. programme
Aspirants must possess Master’s degree in the related subject from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks. For SC/ST aspirants, at least need aggregate is 50%
Aspirants who have cleared GATE/JRF or belong to FIP/QIP programmes are also applicable to apply for the programme

If the aspirant has already completed GATE/JRF or belongs to FIP/QIP programmes, he/she will be selected straight upon attending the interview before department council.
Selection of the aspirant is based on his/her performance in the entrance test organized by Karnataka examination authority. Aspirants will also be shortlisted based on the interview organized by their respective department according to their area of interest
