Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata is the first Indian Institute of Management. Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established in November 1961 for Postgraduate Studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, the Ford Foundation and Indian industry. IIM Kolkata is especially well-known for its finance-related courses and is widely considered to be one of the best business schools in the world for finance. IIM Kolkata provides many Post Graduation, Executive and Doctoral level programs in Management. IIM Kolkata Admission to PG Program is done through CAT or GMAT score.

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA)

Candidates having a Graduate or Postgraduate degree may seek admission in Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA). The course is offered for a duration period of two years. The eligible candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in written test conducted by the institute followed by a personal interview which is again conducted by the institute. However, candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA)

A candidate must hold a graduate/post graduate degree with any of the following:

  • 10+2+4: Minimum of 60% marks, and/or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent, in the BS/B.Tech/BE or equivalent Level.
  • 10+2+5: Minimum of 60% marks, and/or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent, in the Integrated Masters or equivalent Level.
  • 10+2+3+2: Minimum of 60% marks, and/or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent, in the Masters Level. For SC/ ST and Differently Abled (DA) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55%, and/or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent.
  • Candidates, who are in the final year, are also eligible to apply provided they appear in the final examination and complete other academic requirements as specified above by May 31, 2018.

How to Apply?

To register (Click here to register) you have to fill in your Name, valid email, your date of birth & your mobile no. The registered email-id should be active to receive your user ID and password to login and complete the application process. Ensure that the email address provided is active throughout the entire admission process for further correspondence (if and as required)

After registration, you will receive a confirmatory email with your login credentials. Please check your spam mail folders, if the mail does not land to your inbox within 15 minutes of registration.

Application fee for the PGDBA Programme, 2018-20 Batch, is Rs.2000/- for General and NC-OBC candidates and Rs.1000/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories.

Instruction to Filling up & Submission of the Online Application Form:

  • Click on the confirmatory link provided (in the email) for redirecting to your online application login page.
  • Once on the login page, login with the credential provided in the confirmatory mail to begin the application process.
  • There are 3 Steps in your application form. After completing each Step please click on the ‘Save & Continue’ button to save the information you have entered and move to the next step. You may click on the ‘Back & Edit’ button for rectification if necessary. Kindly note that you will be able to “Save” the information in each step only after filling all the mandatory fields.
  • Note that all data will have to be saved in order to avoid data loss during the application process.
  • On completion of Step 3, you will be shown the entire filled in application form for final review. Note that the “Preview” step is the last step where you will be able to make changes to your application. You will not be able to make any changes to the application once it is submitted. We urge you to go over your application very carefully in the “Preview” step before you click on the “Submit” button. The System will not allow you to 'Edit' the application after it is submitted. Once you click on the 'Submit Application' button you will be redirected to the payment gateway for payment of your application fee (as applicable).
  • You will be able take a printout of your filled-in application form only after successful submission and payment of application fee. We urge you to save a copy of your submitted application for your future reference.

Admission Process

A written test will be held on February 18, 2018 and candidates shortlisted after the written test will be called for personal interviews to be held around April, 2018. The final offer would be made on the basis of performance in the written test and the personal interview. Due consideration will also be given to work experience and academic standing. Cities for written test and personal interviews are: Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.
