Indian Law Institute is a deemed university which was founded in 1956 primarily with the objective of promoting and organizing legal research. The Institute is an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and subscribes to 270 present legal periodicals. In 2005, the university enrolled its first batch of L.L.M and Ph.D. program.

The University provides the following postgraduate (PG) courses to its students every year:

  • L.L.M – (1 year)

Aspirants can get admission to the above-mentioned postgraduate courses via CET i.e. “Common Entrance Test”, organizeed by the university. Aspirants can register themselves to the LL.M programme by submitting applications online along with the enrolment fee of Rs. 2000/- via online/offline payment modes.

Eligibility Criteria for ILI (Indian Law Institute) New Delhi LL.M. Admissions 2018


  • Aspirants will be provisionally admitted if their qualifying examination result will not be declared at the time of admission.
  • Aspirant appearing in qualifying examination are also applicable but aspirant must possess at least prescribed qualification at the time of admission.
  • The aspirant must possess LL.B degree from this university or any other recognised university by bar council of India with minimum 50% marks (OR) Aspirant must possess a law degree from a foreign country with minimum 50% aggregate marks or grades.

  • Upon clearly filling-in the application form with all the relevant details, the aspirant will need to upload his/her scanned photograph and signature along with the supporting documents.
  • Then, the aspirant will be asked to enter their individual details and qualification details. Upon completing it, he/she will receive SMS and e-mail containing the application ID and password.
  • Upon submitting all the necessary details, the aspirant will be entitled to make payment of Rs. 2000/- via online or offline payment modes
