Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU) is a public university situated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India founded on January 20th, 1987. The University provides admission to following research program for the year: The University is recognised by UGC and has 15 affiliated colleges and 16 constituent colleges and provides a range of education in professional and academic courses in three faculties i.e. Agriculture, Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering.
Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy)
Aspirants with the relevant Post Graduate qualification can register for the above-mentioned program. The university offers reservation of seats/ relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC etc. as per the rules of the Government and norms of the university.
Aspirants can register for admission by filling the online/offline application form and submitting the need processing fee. Admission to Post Graduate programs is done on the basis of merit of the aspirant in entrance test (CET) organized by the university followed by counseling.

The aspirants can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the clear application form along with the need amount of processing fee and important documents. The aspirant can obtain the application from the office of the registrar or can log on to the university website in and follow the subsequent steps:
Submit the application form.Ensure the eligibility criteria and possession of an active mail-ID.Fill up all accurate details in Application FormUpload the need documentsPay the application fees either via online method by using their debit/credit card or net banking option. Fees can also be paid offline through challan/in shape of crossed Demand Draft in favor of "Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.)" payable in Raipur
Application form duly finished in all respect along with self-addressed envelope (23"x10") affixed with postal stamps of Rs. 20/-. should access the Registrar, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) 492-006. The aspirant must keep the hard copy of application form for future reference. Aspirants are directed to submit the soft copies of the following documents along with application form:
- Domicile Certificate
- Mark sheet/Certificate of the qualifying examination
- Caste Certificate, wherever eligible
- Other relevant documents
- Certificate showing date of birth
NOTE:
- The application fee for OBC of Chhattisgarh and Unreserved category: Rs. 400/-
- The application fee for SC/ST of Chhattisgarh: Rs. 100/-
- The aspirants appearing in the entrance test have to bring their hall ticket and identity proof at the entrance examination center.
- The application fee is non-refundable
- The list of qualified aspirants will be declared on the website.
IGAU Ph.D. Admissions Procedure 2018
Ph.D. (Agronomy), Ph.D. (Genetics & Plant Breeding) & Ph.D. (Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry)
Admission to above courses shall be based on the merit to be determined by the entrance examination (CET), offered the aspirants fulfill the at least eligibility criteria.
The entrance test for the above course shall be based on the syllabus of the qualifying degree.
Counseling:
The aspirants who are selected in the entrance examination/merit list need to participate in the interview/ counseling procedure. Aspirants are directed to bring the application form, photocopies and the originals of the following documents for the purpose of verification at the time of counseling:
- Last semester report card and/or provisional degree certificate
- Permanent caste certificate (For SC/ST and OBC aspirants)
- State domicile certificate for aspirants of Chhattisgarh state
- PH (physically handicapped) certificate allocated by Napier Town, Jabalpur for PH aspirants if claiming for PH quota
- No objection certificate by in-service aspirants of Chhattisgarh Agriculture Department
