Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai a top-flight business school and one of the best institutes in southern states. It was founded in 2004 by Bala V. Balachandran. In 2011 as part of its plans to expand its presence across India, Great Lakes Institute of Management launched its campus in Gurgaon. Now, it has two campuses, one on the outskirts of Chennai and one in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR.

Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) offered The two full-time courses include Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) and is approved by AICTE. These programs are offered in various specializations i.e. Finance, Marketing, Operations, IT& Economics, Business Analytics, OB & Strategy. Great Lakes offers some corporate courses too.

Post Graduate Program

One Year fulltime Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) is an integral part of this article. Admission to the PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management) programmes is through CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT score and Group Discussion/ Personal Interview.

The PGPM Course at Great Lakes is the only One-year management course in India approved by the AICTE. The institute accepts GMAT, CAT and XAT scores for admission. Ranked among the top management institutes, this college offers a tremendous amount of campus placements in very good known companies like Microsoft, Bajaj Capital, Ranbaxy etc.

Candidates can register themselves by submitting application fees of Rs 2000/- for PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management) courses, the fees would be Rs. 2000 can be paid online by Credit card/ Debit Card/ Online transaction and offline by Cash Deposited at Authorised center.

Eligibility Criteria

Postgraduate program in management (PGPM)


  • All applicants are required to appear for GMAT/CAT/XAT +/CMAT before applying to Great Lakes Institute of Management.
  • For PGPM 2018, Great Lakes Institute of Management will accept CAT scores of the year 2016/2017, XAT scores of the year 2017/2018 or GMAT scores taken after Jan 1, 2015 or CMAT scores of the year 2017
  • All applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution
  • A minimum work experience of two years by March 31, 2018 is mandatory and candidates found not fulfilling these criteria will not be admitted.

How to apply?

Candidates can choose to apply by any of the online & Offline methods. Visit the website and fill in the online application form after making a payment of INR 2,000. Candidates have the option of either applying to Great Lakes, Chennai and Great Lakes, Gurgaon campuses separately or for both the campuses through the common application form by selecting the appropriate option in the registration form.

Instruction To Fill online application form:

  • Candidates have to go the official website.
  • The candidates can check the “Programme” section of the university website to access their online Admission form.
  • Select "Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM)" from Postgraduate Programmes in given list.
  • Apply For PGPM Programmes
  • In order to start your online application form, you will first have to register using your email id.
  • Please enter a correct working email id. An email will be sent to this email id after you click the ‘Register’ button to verify your email id.
  • After you complete the Registration, you will receive an email with the link, username and password for the application form.
  • Please enter details in the form "Login Section" according to the instructions given next to each field and click the ‘Login’ button.
  • After clicking the ‘Login’ button you will be taken to the 'Application Home' page
  • Candidates will have an option to fill the form
  • Pay the application fee through Credit card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking and SBI Demand Draft
  • Scan and upload photograph, signature, mark sheet of the last exam passed and other necessary certificates.
  • and complete the processes entirely in one go or fill partially and save the form for completion before the due date

Applicants are Selected based on GMAT/CAT/XAT/CMAT scores, past academic performance, essays, work experience and performance in the interview. The selection process builds on a criterion that facilitates evaluating each applicant on:

Academic Abilities: Being a one-year fast track, the program at Great Lakes is highly demanding and intense; candidates with consistent academic background and a demonstrated ability to sustain pressure make the shortlist.

Standardized Test Scores: To eliminate inconsistencies between colleges and universities at the Undergraduate level, Great Lakes considers GMAT or CAT or XAT or CMAT scores in the overall assessment.
