Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) is a state university situated in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. Currently, there are 44 Engineering Colleges, 1 Architecture Institution, 40 Polytechnics and 11 Pharmacy colleges affiliated to the University. It was founded in the year of 2005.
The university provides admission to different undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. courses. The university provides a Ph.D. program in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Management and Pharmacy to the research candidates.
The university provides the Ph.D. program in 17 various branches tabulated below:

The registration is done in offline mode. The application fee of INR 1000 (INR 500 for SC/ ST) should be paid via demand draft payable to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai.
The selection is done on the basis of entrance test followed by interview round. The entrance test is organized by the university. Qualified aspirants in both stages will be considered for admission to the Ph.D. program.
CSVTU Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria 2018
To be applicable for admission to the Ph.D. program in Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, aspirants have to fulfill the clear eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.
- There is the relaxation of 5% marks for reserved category aspirants SC/ ST.
- Participants having Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy Degree of a recognised university with minimum 65% marks or equivalent are also applicable to apply for the Ph.D. program.
- The final selection is based on entrance test and interview round.
- Aspirants required to obtain minimum 55% marks in master degree; OR
- Students having M. Phil. degree via a regular program from recognised university. The person has minimum three years of experience of research/teaching with minimum three papers published in standard research journals (with ISSN) may be permitted to get registered for the Ph.D. degree, even if he/she does not possess 55% marks at Master's Level; or
- Participants should have the master degree in relevant field from a recognised university or institute.
CSVTU Ph.D. Registration Procedure 2018
The registration is done in offline mode. Aspirants who wish to apply can download the application form from the official website of the university i.e. http://csvtu.ac.in. Applications received after the due date will not be accepted.
All the information which is mentioned on the application form should be accurate and verified with the information of original documents. Students have to mention a valid email address or phone number on the application form.

Application Fee
Participants have to pay an application fee at the time of application form submission. The amount of application fee can be paid in offline method via demand draft in favor of Registrar, Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai payable at Bhilai from any nationalized bank or online fee collection method of CSVTU website.

- The Demand draft for the application as eligible
- List of Technical papers published duly signed by the participant
- GATE/ CSIR/ UGC scorecard

- Copies of mark/grade sheets
- Experience certificate of regular recruitment u/s 19 of CSVTU
- Two self-addressed stamped (Rs. 25/- each) envelopes of 23 cm x10 cm
- Date of Birth (DOB) Certificate
- No Objection/relieving Certificate from employer (for employed aspirants)
- Two self-attested passport size photographs.
CSVTU Ph.D. Admission Procedure 2018
The selection is done on the basis of entrance test followed by the interview. Those who will successfully qualify both stages of selection procedure will be considered for admission procedure.
- Shortlisted aspirants on the basis of their performance in entrance test will be called for interview round.
- Participants establish appropriate for admission will be called for the entrance test.
- The interview is the final stage of selection which is organized by the university in the university campus.
- Qualified aspirants in interview round will be considered for admission procedure.
Participants exempted from entrance test.
- Aspirants having valid GATE/ UGC/ CSIR (JRF) score are exempted from entrance test.
- Teacher fellowship holder and University/College teachers holding a regular position and has finished two years of service as the teacher in a department of the University/affiliated college/Institution.
- Scientist of any recognised National/International Institutions having two years of research experience.
- Students possessing M.Phil. Degree via a regular program from a deemed university is also exempted from entrance test.
Entrance Exam Format
- Students have to attempt all the questions in the period of three hours.
- The question paper consists of 100 objective type of questions.
- Participants required to score minimum 50% marks in an entrance test to be applicable for admission.
- 40 questions from the relevant branch of the syllabus and 60 questions from any of the specialization of the relevant branch of the syllabus.
- The validity of the Entrance Test will be for two years.
- The paper is held in offline method (pen and paper-based).
