Banaras Hindu University (BHU), which is one of the largest residential Universities in Asia, is a Central University situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The University, which was founded in 1916, is considered to be an Institute of National Importance. Students want admission to having to appear in an Entrance Test (UET for Undergraduate courses and PET for Postgraduate courses). The admissions are done on the basis of merit. The University provides different courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.
The application for UET generally opens in January followed by the Exam in April/ May. The students selected on the basis of merit, have to undergo a Counselling process.

For Mathematics group, the students must have passed Higher Secondary (Class 10+2) Examination or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Geography/ Geology/ Statistics. The students must also be 22 years old or below.
For Biology group, the students must have passed Higher Secondary (Class 10+2) Examination or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/ Geography/ Geology. The students must also be 22 years old or below.
The students must have passed class 10+2 or Intermediate Examination in Science (that is, with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics/ Biology) or in Agriculture with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The students must not be below 16 years or above 25 years of age.
Bachelor of Fine Arts [BFA]
The students must have passed Higher Secondary (Class 10+2) Examination or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The students must also be 22 years old or below.
Bachelor of Music
The students must have passed Higher Secondary (Class 10+2) Examination or equivalent, or a Graduate/ Postgraduate Degree. The students should also satisfy any of the following conditions.
Also, the students must have secured minimum 50% marks in Dance/ Music Practical in each of the conditions mentioned above.
The students want admission in any of the B.Sc., BPA, B.Mus., and BFA courses provideed by the University required to apply for UET first. The application form for the same is available on the Entrance Test Portal of BHU and can be filled online only.
Students required to fill the form with accurate information and valid contact details. Once, the application form is filled, the students required to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature.
The submission is successful only after the application fee is paid. The application fee is as follows.
In case an application is made for more than one course, then.
After the fee payment, students are expected to download their Hall Ticket as per the schedule and appear for the exam followed by the Selection/ Admission Process.
The payment can be done online as well as offline.
Students are selected on the basis of their performance in the UET. The students required to attend the Counselling Process for admission after the releasement of the Merit lists. In the form, students have to fill in their choices of courses and branches they seeking to study in.
Step 1 - Download the Call Letter.
Selected students are informed about their selection and Call Letter via an e-mail. Students then required to submit the signed Form along with the following documents for Documents Verification.
Step 4 - Get the Provisional Admission Letter.
Once, all the documents are verified, a computer allows a seat to a student. In case of any up-gradation, the upgraded students are informed of the same and changes are made accordingly.
Once the Form is modified, students required to take a print-out of the same and sign it. After allocation, students are offered a Provisional Admission Letter (one day after the counselling).
Step 5 - Make the Fee payment
Once the Provisional Admission Letter is received, students required to pay the Admission fees to confirm their admission. All the choices are to be made very cautiously.
Step 3 - Report to the Counselling venue as per the allotted time and date.
Further, selected students required to report to the Counselling venue. They can do so by logging into their Entrance Test Portal account.
Step 2 - Fill the Preference Entry Form.
Selected students required to fill a Preference Entry form. The payment can be done online as well as offline. If the payment is made offline, students required to submit the proof of the same at the Counselling venue before the deadline.
Up-gradation of seats is possible. The allocation is based on merit as well as student's choices. Students required to download the Call Letter for the Counselling. After consulting the teachers current over there, students can make changes to the choices made in the Preference Entry Form.
