Established in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities situated in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to provide courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also offers more than 500 courses via distance learning mode.
The university provides the following Under Graduate courses in the field of agriculture:
B.Sc. Horticulture
B.Sc. Agriculture
Only aspirants who have finished 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognized university are qualified for admission to these programmes. Admissions to the B.Sc Agriculture and B.Sc Horticulture programme is done on the basis of the marks scored by the aspirant in their respective qualifying examination (Higher secondary examination).
Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves by filling-in the related application form available at the university website. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/SCA aspirants).

Eligibility:
The aspirant should have passed 10+2 with a central/state board of examination which is recognized by the branch of study of Annamalai University with a bare minimum of aggregate which is as follows:
Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST) – Passing marks in qualifying exam with the qualifying subjects
45% for Backward Class (BC), Backward Class Christians and Backward Class Muslims (BCM)
40% for Most Backward Class, DE Notified Community(DNC)
50% for open category
Higher secondary education should comprise the following subjects for approval:
Chemistry as the third subject
Mathematics or Botany or Biology as the first subject
Electives –
Physics as the second subject
Computer Science / Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Nursing/ Nutritional Dietetics (if first subject chosen is Mathematics).
Zoology (if first subject has chosen is botany)
Biology/ Computer Science /Statistics/ Biochemistry/Home Science (if the first subject is chosen as chemistry)
Note: If the aspirant has not chosen the first three subjects or fails to qualify via these three subjects, the aggregate marks of the electives will be taken into consideration.

Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses via the online application procedure.
Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence. Online Application Number is the Registration Number of the Annamalai University B.Sc.(Ag.)/B.Sc.(Horti.) Admissions.
The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST Aspirants) via demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai
