Established in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities situated in India. The university is one of the first institutions in the country to provide courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture, and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also offers more than 500 courses via distance learning mode.

Faculty of Pharmacy at the university provides the following programme:

  • Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.)
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) – Lateral Entry

Admission of aspirants to the above mentioned programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the qualifying examination.

Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves by filling-in the related application form available at the university website.   (LE) and Rs. 400/- for D.Pharm. Finished applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 600/- for B.Pharm.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharm & D.Pharm Admission

Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy

B.Pharm. Pharma. (Lateral entry) – 3 years

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess diploma in pharmacy with at least 50% aggregate marks in the first and second years of D.Pharm. examination from this university or any other recognized university.

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.) – 2 years


  • Aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree with physics, chemistry and biology/ mathematics subjects at higher secondary or graduate level
  • The aspirant must pass in higher secondary examination or equivalent exam with physics and chemistry along with biology, botany and zoology, mathematics
  • The aspirant should have finished 17 years of age at the time of admission to the D.Pharma programme

B.Pharm & D.Pharm Admission 2019 How to Apply?

Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy

Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses via the online application procedure.

  • Upon filling in all the relevant details, the aspirant will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence. 
  • The aspirant should log on to the official university website and fill the related application form to register for the B.Pharm (L.E.)/D.Pharm. programmes.
  • The aspirant should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST Aspirants) via demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai
  • Finished applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address:

Selection of the aspirant to B.Pharm (L.E.)/ D.Pharm. will be based on marks obtained in the subjects in the qualifying examination.

Seats will be reserved for aspirants belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu
